    B1G West

(Facilities, fans, $4.5 million, returning award winning oline, returning line backing core, etc. etc. No excuses for more than 3 losses.) As fans, we getting the opportunity to suit up and take the field for games this year?

    Oklahoma / Big 12

Regardless of anybody's opinion, Texas is the big prize followed by Notre Dame and then Oklahoma. I feel like the Pac 12 might be in the best position to bring in Texas and Oklahoma. The reason I think this is simply because they have 12 teams instead of 14 so they have a little more...

    Jerminic Smith Leaving Team

    J. Smith did show a few flashes of being a solid college WR but the key word there is few. It was disappointing that he wasn't able to emerge after Vandeburg's injury after somewhat capably filling in for T. Smith the year before. I would have liked to have thought that J. Smith could possibly...

Quotes like these are what I hope recruits see

It's a frequent talking point about the Iowa football program under Kirk Ferentz is a developmental program. We can debate the strengths and weaknesses of Kirk Ferentz, but even his harshest critics would have to concede that the coaching staff does a solid job of developing lightly recruited...

Why did we give up on the Dual-Threat QB after the Brad Banks season?

Sound the alarms, we have a dreamer on board.

Why did we give up on the Dual-Threat QB after the Brad Banks season?

I agree with the point that only if we had a dual threat QB like Tommy Armstrong, Iowa would finish with double digit wins every year and that our offense would be a dynamic matchup nightmare. It's a failure of the coaching staff that Iowa hasn't been able to recruit more Tommy Armstrong's.

Gopher Players threaten to Boycott Bowl Game.

I don't know what did or did not happen with these players and this woman (I wouldn't be surprised by anything), but if I was a football player at Minnesota and I put myself behind this boycott, I better know for sure 1000% that my teammates are absolutely innocent of what they were accused of...

    Will Wadley be back?

I don't know his family financial situation or what direction his family might push him. Some family members (Mom usually) might tell him to finish his degree. But if he can get drafted in the first few rounds, it would be tough to turn down the upfront money or to turn away from a potential...

Why is Michigan still in everyone's BCS Top 4

1)Aside from Alabama and Ohio State, who would you definitively have ahead of them? 2)Good wins: Wisconsin, Penn State, and Colorado. All at home, but that's two top 10 teams and another top 15. 3)Loss was on the road. Right now, it's Alabama, Ohio State, some combo of Clemson, Louisville...

3rd and 7 on our own 39 yard line

    1. I'm not sure what Iowa's coaching staff decides to do here. In similar situations they've approached the situation as if it were a 2 down situation and other times they have not. 2. My approach would be to make this a two down situation. I'm acting like it's 2nd and 7 so anything is on the...

What would turn around the season.

^^^^^ Win 3 of the last 4 regular season games AND win the bowl game. If they find a legit productive WR in the process, then there can be some optimism heading into 2017.

The only stat you need to know....

The title of this post should be something like "A stat could indicate something, but doesn't tell you anything that a casual fan couldn't already tell you through observation."

    Wadley

Wadley is clearly Iowa's most dynamic player and best running back on the team. Health permitting, he should never have less than 15 touches per week. However, at 5'10-11" and 191 lbs, I would be hesitant to give him anything more than 23-24 touches on a weekly basis. I'm not saying that in a...

QBs under Kirk that got better

Drew Tate was a better player his Junior year than he was his Sophomore year. His Senior year his performance took a step back but that could be attributed to the fact he battled injuries most of the year and his best WR was a freshman.

What does this say about Iowa if Oregon..."has been heading in wrong direction?"

Oregon heading in the wrong direction tells you how fast things can start going downhill when you lose a high level coach and don't replace him with another high level coach. If they don't go to a bowl this year, things could get interesting.

How would Iowa's facilities rank in SEC?

Location, location, location is the biggest thing Iowa needs to overcome in recruiting. Ever been to a big university where it is warm year round? That type of environment would be tough to turn down if I was a 17-18 year old recruit. What Iowa has to offer potential recruits is a high level...

    Offensive Strategy

Usually Iowa has a couple of capable tight ends, but at the moment they are really only one deep at TE. Pekar hasn't done anything to stand out yet. I've heard nice things about Fant but he probably needs another year in the program. I wonder if something as boring or inglorious as a two tight...
