How would Iowa's facilities rank in SEC?

This is really cool! Thanks, NC, for the post. Will pass it along to some Hawkeye friends of mine...

I just hope that Iowa continues updating and improving their training facility and player's lounge. That is the only way they'll have a puncher's chance in recruiting.

Good grief! What in the H does a waterfall in the locker room have to do with recruitment please tell!

I don't understand the disconnect between: We can compete with money and facilities, but we can't recruit. Like Iowa thinks they are the ugly sister in a wealthy family of hot sisters.

Remember the Happy Days spin off the Ugily Farmily? Is KF Ed Marinaro?

Condition your customers to accept turd sandwiches.

I don' think it necessarily has anything to do with facilities. I think it comes down to the fact that the south is a football hotbed and a lot of the elite talent doesn't want to leave the south to come to the Midwest.

Freaking body-slamming awesome! I was at the Gator Bowl game between Iowa- Florida game . I didnt have a jacket when I went to the game. A farmer from Iowa let me use his Carhartt's which smell like pig. I didn't care about it because I'm Iowan at heart. Dang cold that night.

A lot of midwestern family are raised in Florida,Georgia, and etc. I am sure they wants to come to B1G. If you're Floridian I am sure you have three best choices, Florida Miami and Florida State. Iowa needs to figure out their collaborative advantage compare to SEC schools. Weight room is one, maybe?

Location, location, location is the biggest thing Iowa needs to overcome in recruiting. Ever been to a big university where it is warm year round? That type of environment would be tough to turn down if I was a 17-18 year old recruit. What Iowa has to offer potential recruits is a high level player development program and stability in leadership (like it or not) within the program.

The emergence of schools like Central and South Florida have given two and three star guys options. These kids do not have to go North now to play FBS football. These are the kids in the late 90's, and early 2000's that were coming to Iowa and Wisconsin.

Apparently NDSU does it.
