Pretty sure he has a sports hernia...complicated injury, one that just takes time to improve. Obviously playing each week will slow the healing. Having close to a month off will be pretty big in December.

CJ is forced to throw from the gun because he isn't mobile enough right now to drop back. For 99% of QB's, it is easier to throw from the gun. Iowa would prefer to not show their cards, but PA bootlegs are just not in the playbook when your QB is hobbled.

I assume you're referring to James Morris, who I believe was offered in 8th grade. It helps when your dad is Greg Morris (Iowa Equipment Manager). That turned out pretty damned well for Iowa.

Having a quicker back helps turn 5 yard runs into 12 yard ones (with the occasional bigger burst), but last year, Iowa's interior line didn't get any push. Interior OL is MUCH better than last year.
