    Iowa Players Get Off Twitter

Twitter is not for everyone. It's not for the weak minded. It's not for the faint of heart. It's not for people that take themselves too seriously. It's not for people with "snow flake" feelings. If you fit into any of the above categories, you will encounter lots of people just like you and you...

    Iowa Players Get Off Twitter

Why do people engage these players on Twitter? I'll never understand that. What good comes from that?

He was very strong for his size. He had ways of changing his dribble pace with hesitations, that kept you on your heels a little. He didn't even use his left hand that much. A little hesitation dribble with a head nod and then he was by you and at the rim. Then he'd give you a little head nod...

Too slow/small to defend in the NBA. He wasn't very fast and he wasn't the best defender.

Yes. I picked up on that as well. He plays with good change of pace. That's what I like to see from a PG. It's the subtle things like this that allows a PG to get a defense to move a little here, or there. Makes entry passes easier. I've had to guard Andre in pick up games at the Field house...

I like what I see so far. He doesn't play out of control but he's still quick enough. I didn't get a good enough look at the things I like to see, from those videos. Evaluating PGs is very difficult. I might see if I can find some of his full games on the internet.

Not really. He could simply re-classify and go to a prep school for a year.

Fire Barta, Fire Fran, fire them all.

Some of you guys thinking we'll be better without Cook are the same guys who thought we'd be better without Jok. We should be better next year, simply based on the fact we have so many SRs on the roster, with or without Cook. We'd be a lot better with Cook.

I'm not counting on Pemsl to ever be a contributor. There's only so many knee surgeries in a basketball player.

    The path forward

At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter how you score your points. If the PPG total and FG% is the same....what difference does it really make? Where AW wins this argument is on the defensive end. I'd take Uthoff over both of them, honestly.

Do the same thing for Garza, that you did for Cook.

This Is What Was Squandered Away

I'm not superstitious about much but I am when it comes to basketball luck. I kind of cringed when we won those games on buzzer beaters because I felt like we didn't want to get all of our lucky breaks before the end of the season. I felt that meant we would be on the losing end of those breaks...

Fran and his kids Gotta go

They would have had to fire him already. No way they let him come back and coach the last couple of games. Not from the suspension they are now firing him for. That would be asinine. Yeah......that's something Gutless Gary would do.

Actually....it aged better than you'd have thought.

I think we found out that this team couldn't sustain the defensive effort for the entire season. It takes a lot of energy and mental toughness to do it.

    Thanks to Gary Barta....

That won't be a huge loss IMO.

Matt Painter on Building a Team/Recruiting

This goes back to my insistence that you need to recruit defensive minded players first. They're just tougher all around. They understand the 95% mentality. MSU Wis Pur Michigan (finally gets it)
