How did the 1997 team go 7-5?

For me it was so disappointing cuz you kinda knew that would probably be Coach Fry's last real good team. So many of the stars on that team were Iowa kids too. Sherman, Banks, Dwight, and DeVries to name a few. Haven't seen an Iowa team with so many top players from Iowa since.

How did the 1997 team go 7-5?

Losing Matt Sherman really hurt. Offense had no rhythm with Randy Reiners. Still the most disappointed I have ever been with an Iowa football team.

    Thank God for Nebraska

I don't see a Nebraska team that hadn't won the Big 12 since 1999 automatically being a tier 1 team in the B1G.

    02 Iowa PSU game

That offense was an absolute wrecking crew. Doubt we ever another like it under KF.

Top 20 Coaching Jobs in College Football

Over the last 30 years Miami won more national titles than anybody and they didn't make this list ? I know they are a small private school without huge funding but come on. 4 different coaches won a national title there. Best recruiting in the country. What am I missing here.

Top 20 Coaching Jobs in College Football

I seem to remember during the 2010 Arizona game the commentators doing a piece on how a very small number of Arizona's players actually hail from Arizona. So kinda hard to buy the recruiting hot bed line. If I recall they pulled most their kids from California and the Pacific Islands.

Who wins the Big Ten next Year?

If Iowa has an offense that can consistently put points on the board they can win the B10. And since that will never happen I am forced to pick Nebraska as 2011 B10 Champs.

B1G Shift: Who Benefits from OSU's 'Demise'?

its hard to imagine a better situation if your Brady Hoke. This scandal and possible sanctions against OSU could give Michigan a nice boost in recruiting and significantly aid the rebuilding effort their.

How did you become an Iowa fan?

Prolly my earliest memory of the Hawkeyes was watching the Rose Bowl at my Grandmas house and my Dad being very upset to put it lightly. Then after the Elite 8 loss to UNLV i remember him throwing something at the wall slaming the door and heading straight to the local tavern! The back to back...

Regarding expansion, does the NYC media market...

By my count there are 9 pro sports teams in the NYC area almost all of them overlap with college footballs season. Doesn't leave much room for college football does it. Rutgers doesn't have much of a tv market in the area they never have and probably never will. We will not sell them on our long...

Regarding expansion, does the NYC media market...

If $$$$$$$$ is the biggest factor then it definetly willl not be any east coast team cuz there aren't any out there that are par with the B10 and our level of competition. None of them draw enough attention from big tv markets cuz they are all in saturated pro markets. Ask any of the millions of...

Regarding expansion, does the NYC media market...

I certainly don't feel we should add another eastern team so they have a team close by. They knew the geography of the B10 when they joined. If they want to play Rutgers and Syrcuse maybe they should have joined the Big East not the B10.

Regarding expansion, does the NYC media market...

I wish I could explain Penn State. If we didn't add them in 1993 we aren't in this situation of trying to find a 12th team.

Regarding expansion, does the NYC media market...

Nothing against Syracuse and Rutgers but I feel the B10 is a Midwest conference not an East Coast conference and should stay that way.
