Gatens makes ''The Journey''

in this weeks version,they finish with a blow by blow on Gatens fabulous nite vs the Badgers and show him walking thru the crowd along with Devyn...then embracing Roy Marble after Devyn next to the locker room,then walking into the locker room and being picked up by his teammates.

Final scene: ''Fran at the front of the seated players saying ''Who's playing better than us right now?!!''...and Matt yelling out...''No one!''...

Lets go,Hawks!! Beat the Illini!!
 




When will it air? Also, is there a video for this already? It sounds really awesome. What a magical night! I just wish we would have kept our feet on the gas pedal and just hammered them so that their fan's wouldn't even be able to say "oh because you beat us by sooo much. If it weren't for [insert play here] we would have won blah blah blah"

Not to mention that I was about to have a heart attack towards the end when they were coming back!

It aired Saturday night at 11pm CST but you can watch it on BTN2GO at any time if you have access.

Oh wow that was quick. I suppose by "access" you mean that I would have to be paying for it. And I'm guessing they won't be replaying it on TV. Darn.

Thanks for the quick response though. I'll have to try to find a way to watch it.
 


Actually they will aire it again right after the Illinois game tonight. There's your opportunity.

The funny thing is, the cameras were in Iowa City to profile Wisconsin's Rob Wilson but Matt stole the show! Makes our win that much sweeter!

Just watched it..noticed Roy Marble hugging a happy Devyn and Mel Basabe after..Roy saying to Mel 'I told you! I told you!'

I know that Roy has spent some time with Mel talking about what it takes to do well at this level night in and night out...Fran has pulled out all the stops and had several people helping him trying to reach Mel and I believe Devyn and Mel are roommates.

I hope that Mel has realized after these last two games that when he gives maximum effort, good things happen for him and subsequently his team.
 


Watched it, saw that Roy had some choice words for Gatens, too. Good to see him being so influential (or so it seems) with the team.

Yes and his involvement in Iowa basketball is going to be more of a saving grace for him than for Iowa.

I really like how Fran is getting former players involved that atmosphere is very benficial. Michigan/Indiana/MSU are programs that now actively have former players involved...IU/UM most recently, I think MSU's track record speaks for itself.

I also think it is important to recruits to see that connection.
