New Bracketology: 1/15 Iowa 2nd Team Out

Wisconsin. Does Lunardi care to look at their Big 10 schedule to date?

Iowa State makes it in by almost beating someone, not actually winning the game.

I'm sure he did, but they are undefeated in B1G play so far. They can only win the games that they are scheduled. Don't worry though that spotless record is about to take a hit. And had Iowa won 1 of their 2 games vs Indiana and MSU then they'd be in as well. Don't know why everyone is mad about it, it's what have you done to date.

Wisconsin is 3-0 with a win over the #12 team at the time. A road win against a team that played both MSU and Michigan down to the wire on the road. You can only win the games against those on your schedule. There are also no bad losses (@Florida, @Marquette, Creighton neutral and Virginia).

No one is saying Wisconsin isn't going to suffer quite a few losses over the next 10. However even if we go 3-7 and then win 4 of our last 5 against NW, Neb, PSU, Purdue and MSU, then that puts us at 10-8 and solidly in the tournament. Heck we can even go 2-8 over the next 10 and finish 9-9 and make the dance.

I don't get the rationale of saying well "we started 0-3 but look who we had to play." Ok, sure it was tough. Wisconsin could have done no worse than 0-3 as well. What's the point?

I think it's likely that we drop our next 2 road games as we are still learning to play with our young guards and NO ONE wins at Indiana this year. It'll be hard to overcome Iowa on an emotional day in IC for some next saturday. That's ok, we can withstand dropping our next 2 and still make the dance.

I have no problem with having Wisc in but we beat ISU.

Ok. That points out a problem for Iowa. Iowa had chances to pick up quality wins in their 1st 3 games (2 of them at home). Looking at the remaining schedule, here are the chances for quality wins (I'll take out Wisconsin for consideration of a quality win since no one on here considers them "quality" and Wis is not ranked):

@OSU
@Minn
vs Minn
@Indiana
vs Ill

That means you've got 5 chances to pick up a quality win. To me, that means Iowa would have to go 10-8 with at least 3 quality wins because the RPI will be so low.

Now if you have a problem with that logic, that's cool. But at least come up with some other logic to dispute it. We're talking about Iowa here, not Wisconsin.

Don't even post this crap for another month or so. We're a couple games into conference. It's WAY too early to be talking brackets.

I see three games there that I'd consider winnable, but I don't see them taking any more than two, and wouldn't be shocked with an 0-for either. Personally, I think Wisconsin is still a quality win. If Iowa could manage a sweep and then knock off Illinois and/or Minnesota at home, that might be enough.

You be wrong. You be mad.

ActiveVager and Scorpio back on the same day.......coincidence??????

Another genius

What did he say that was wrong up to the point of his post?

Wisky had the easiest B1G scheudle through 3 games of anybody.

Last night was a great win for the Badgers, a lot of people on here are saying that.

You going around to every thread telling people how "genius" they are makes you look like a huge doosh.

The fact that someone is considering Iowa for the Tourney as they currently sit 12-5 (1-3) is a amazing to me.

RPI of 77. SOS of 99.
0-4 vs Top 25.

That's not a tourney resume yet. Not close.

It's never too early. If the media isn't publishing articles what are people going to click on? No clicks = no advertising revenue. By clicking and posting in this thread you did exactly what the media is trying to get you to do.
