What does your checklist include for gameday in Iowa City, or on the road? List all of your tailgating supplies, your time of departure upon the glory lands of Iowa City, etc. This can be a fun, and interesting way to kill time in the dwindling months before Fall Camp begins.

1. Leave Minnesota on Friday with car flags flying
2. Spend night in Cedar Rapids
3. Wake up at 5:45.
4. Leave hotel by 6:30.
5. Make commute into Iowa City.
6. Get to tailgate lot.
7. Crack open a Coors Light.
8. Set up flagpole
9. Set up tailgate tent.
10. Set cornhole boards up.
11. Set up table
12 Light the charcoal grill
13. Grill meats, burgers, chicken, ribs.
14. kick *** in bags
15. throw the football around
16. Tippy Cup

Usually leave for the Promised Land about noon on Friday... get checked into the hotel and crack the first one about 3:00pm. Hit the "Liner" about 4:00, stay till 8:00pm and then back to the hotel. Pack the cooler, up at 6:00am, park in the ramp on Melrose at 7:00am, walk with cooler and Mrs. Twin to NW corner of the stadium(right by the big black Hawkeye semi) and enjoy my bacon and eggs with all my Fat Dog friends! How many more days til kickoff?:D

Yes I have a list. All you need to do is forget once, or have one flat tire, or need toilet paper once, etc and the list pays for itself several times over.

I ***** about all the work, but I also love it. Chili for cooler weather I make one week prior, and let percolate. Sometimes I marinate a London Broil for a week.

The first several games I pack too much. As the season goes along, I get better at making only the necessities fit.

Road games have their own version. Depends on where the game is at. OSU, lots of room to tailgate. Nebby? Not so much.

TP! Wow... after 35 years of tailgating, I can still learn something!!:D

Dexter is more than welcome to join me, so long as he brings his own drinks etc,.

What I mean by that, is show up and I'll offer you a beer and a burger, but show up every week, and drink $20 worth of beer and eat $20 worth of steaks, we'd probably start to scratch our heads.

I'm sure you wouldn't so that. Some folks actually do, as unbelievable as that is.

I don't care who shows up. I used to go to other people's parties, but recently I'm more into just relaxing at mine.

appreciate that. I'll try to stop by at least once this season just to introduce myself.

Forget it once, and you'll understand.

Seriously, I hope I can add some things to my list. Especially what others do for food. As everyone knows, easier is always better for these types of things, and I struggle with something different to make, that is also tailgate friendly. Based on the all night smoke thread on here, I bet I get some pretty good idea before this thread runs its' course.

Good topic. Good thread. Happy subject.

While we're doing food ideas, I plan on doing these 2 this year.

Hot dog bar with all the fixins, chili, onion, kraut, etc. Pretty easy and you can make almost everything ahead of time.

Saddlebags: Buttermilk pancakes with sausage and bacon cooked right in them, topped with a couple fried eggs.

Stop by. Eclectic group. Pretty low key. Most don't drink, but occasionally we get a party going. Sometimes I have guests from the visiting schools.

Always more fun when we're having a magic season.

You do the sausage and bacon and bring it, or do it right there?

I go to the butcher shop and get really thick cut bacon. It ends up almost tasting like beef because of the grill.

plan on cooking the sausage and bacon ahead of time and cutting it up, have the pancake batter made and fry the eggs on site.

This kind of topic always make me wish, JD would pitch a tent somewhere near Kinnick and all of us goof balls could meet one another under the Hawkeye flag! We may have our differences, but we are all Hawks! How fun to see boat and Vin.. I mean Scorpio to break bread together!:)

May have to make this work this fall. Maybe for PSU? It should be an absolute blast. We also get a very popular guest who many of you fanatics would recognize once a season, sometimes twice.

Not so long ago the players on their way home would stop by and grab a burger. One season, I'll never forget it, they'd grab a beer. That made me wonder. That was the beginning of the "end", before we began again in 2008-2009.

"Team", "chemistry" and "momentum" have so much more impact on the college game than higher levels it seems. The pageantry though, and game day atmosphere is unrivaled.
