Would love to see Purdue again

Which would have to be the Big Ten Tourney. We have been so close twice against these guys. Game 1 we didn't have the confidence we do now or we probably do win. This game we couldn't rebound and some of the home cooking that teams often get definitely contributed to the outcome of this game. Don't get me wrong, I thought the officiating was decent, but some of these calls would have gone our way on a neutral court.

I hope we see these guys again.

I don't want to. I get pumped during all the games, but their in-the-jersey man defense and Byrd flying around like a shorter Jacob Jaacks gets me all sorts of furious. That's a credit to them.

I would have to agree. Iowa matches up really well with Purdue.
Last year's Purdue team was better than this year's, while Iowa's team was worse than this year's and the Hawks still beat them.

Hawks had several chances both times they played this year to beat them.
Can't give up a 10 pt lead on the road. Need to have guys step up and be leaders. Get a stop on one end and build that lead.

The only thing is, the games are always super intense with the way Painter instructs his guys to play D. It's almost as if the refs have too much say in the Iowa - PU games.

Yeah I don't like them. They are like the basketball version of street fighters. They all play pretty tough, except that flubby-looking post player Travis Carroll who plays like a whimp. Plus I can't stand Ryan Smith. There he is no way he should be good basketball.

Purdue's guards are too quick for us to defend. Both games we gave up far too many blow by layups after playing good D for 25-30 seconds. I was shocked that Smith completely took Gatens out of the game tonight. Our poor shooting and their defensive intensity seems to be a bad combination.

thats what i thought about being evenly matched to purdue.

We may meet them again in the BTT. It will be interesting how THEY survive the next few games. Our schedule gets easier, theirs gets much harder.

Purdue is a lot like Wisconsin... One really nice player and a lot of Ehhhh..

Iowa matches up really well with both of those schools, as well as Minnesota (with Mbakwe not playing)
