Blocking out, hustling, effort, getting down in a good defensive position, pick and roll, using the baseline as an additional defender, give and go, helping out...these are all skills that our big men and any basketball team can learn and execute.

Watch closely...how many times a game do you see Iowa players standing, looking up at the hoop, after a shot...disinterested in blocking out, or not even aware that it is a team fundamental that wins games?
Good teams operate like a machine...Iowa has a bunch of individual players, floundering about...this is especially a big issue because Iowa has very little lateral quickness.
It is pretty astounding...and there is no surprise that Iowa ranks in the 300s...on the wrong end of team defense.
