Will we have the #1 defense in the Nation?

I took a look at the likes for that post and nobody stands out to be categorized as "usual suspects." Usual suspects would include people like me and I didn't like it. You're getting sloppy.

Just to be clear...I think your posts recently have been very well done. I have nothing against you, personally, but will disagree when I think you are wrong. Hope you will do the same with me in a respectful manner.

Are you trying to top his post in ignorance? If you can enlighten us as to what Iowa's offense in last year's Wisconsin game has to do with this year's Hawkeye defense, please do. Otherwise STFU.
Nothing. That doesn't make the comment ignorant. You've topped the tard chart with your post. Congrats. Stupid and childish.

yeah. on a thread about the Iowa D in 2018, lets talk about the Iowa O in 2017. Typical.
He has his reasons why he chose to bring it up. I'm simply supporting the fact that the offensive performance in question was awful. I'm more than happy to discuss our awesome defense.

Gave up zero points and only like 112 yards of offense. It was practically a bye week. Will these numbers be enough statistically to get us to #1? I'm excited for the new stat rankings to come out.

Funny thing is that about 25 of those yards came on Maryland's very last possession. They easily could have ended up under 100 yrds of total offense.

We had a game with Northwestern in the Denny Green era where they didn't even get 66 yards of offense. I looked it up and we won 31-3 so we must have had at least one turnover deep in our own end. That's not the funny part of the story, however. The funny part was offensive lineman Mike Haight. Frustrated with his play he, according to my trusty student manager friend/neighbor, stormed off the field after one offensive series, kicked over three benches, and shouted "I'm the worst f****** offensive lineman in the history of this f****** conference!

Mike turned out to be slightly better than that. He played for the New York Jets for a few years.

Edit: It was October 6, 1984. Northwestern had 49 total yards. Iowa was in the midst of a five game with streak. They would beat Purdue 40-3 and Michigan 26-0 for a three game run of no TD's allowed and a combined score, including the Northwestern game, of 97-6

agreed, Iowa's defense is one of the best in the KF era. not bad for a bunch of 2 star guys.

Yes, 2-3 stars except for Eppy, but the last few years especially since the Outback and taxslayer bowl losses it seems we have a little more speed on defense. The defenses since 15 have had some real good cover guys at least a couple of good cover linebackers, etc.

Really liking the hybrid safety-Linebacker spot for Hooker as he is like a Hitchens and Kirksey.

When A Nelson isnt getting double teamed or held he is causing havoc in the opponent backfield

And I have to say again or for the fifth time Parker Hesse is just a Smart, strong, quick and fast lineman, He is going to be missed after this year but we got 4 great years with him.

I need to remember to start a Hesse Appreciation Thread after Sr Day.

See my prediction of 31-10 this weekend?
That 10 could do it.
Miami plays BC
Next week Michigan plays PSU

This is a statement game in every sense. Both sides of the ball.

Saw a crazy stat on ESPN bottom line today. Iowa hasn't allowed a rushing touchdown between the tackles yet this season. Can that really be true?
