Will Keenan be better because of this?

You always hear about players learning from mistakes or getting better in losses, etc...

Some of that is horse pucky, but do you think the drop by Keenan will have an effect on him? Whether good or bad?

He was great all game long until that drop in OT.

Everyone has drops..this one was costly.

He showed me a TON on Saturday...he is a weapon. Strong, heart, determined.

Now, will Iowa take advantage of one of its best WR tandems ever? that's the big question.

When we look at the number of players Iowa has put in the pros, and the one position that is really lacking is WR, it's not really a shocker after games like Saturday when opportunities were there to be had, and were not taken advantage of.

Verdict is still out on KD until he does something against legit competition. I do miss DJK though, that guy made plays in the clutch.

Couldn't agree more. Jon, we had to have had 1 on 1 coverage when they were stacking 8 in the box. Do you think we didn't throw because they wouldn't allow an audible, or was JVB not wanting to check? Any idea?

I thought about that during the game as well. We just didn't seem to have a consistent chain-mover on third downs. No DJK, no Brandon Myers. That could very easily change as the season progresses, but we didn't have it Saturday.

Especially against a ISU secondary that is shorter than my wife.

Far too many runs in Saturday's game.

I agree on Keenan, he showed up. That toss by JVB to him in OT was NFL caliber (one of two on the day) and the snag was awesome.

Hope he can put the drop behind him and get better from it.

Just like one bad game doesn't define a teams' season, one drop doesn't define a WRs season.

He has 8 more important games than the ISU game this season to make up for that and really Iowa isn't even in the game without his performance.

Every receiver has clutch drops in his career. Kid's a baller. I hope we use our receivers as the season progresses but, if the ISU game is any indication, we're just going to bang up Coker until we have no choice. Argh. So frustrating. I know Vandy didn't have the best game but he improved during the game. Give him a chance to use his best weapons.

Short answer: Yes.

Agreed. The kid is tough, not afraid to take a hit, and has good hands.

I give him a pass on the drop in O.T. last week; it may be the last drop of a relatively easy catch he'll ever have. Actually, I don't think it was that easy, since he was running full speed in traffic.
