hockey will bring in lots of money and canadians. Actually that is only half true.
Actually, it's not. Unless you go all the way with funding for the facilities etc., you will never get the players to come and never compete. That's what the argument was for new football and basketball facilities was, right? It's even more important for a specialized sport like hockey. There's a reason why UNO has hockey, but UNL doesn't. Unless you have lived in an environment where hockey is actually almost as important as the high revenue sports, it's hard to comprehend.
You keep talking about UNL, they may be adding hockey sooner than you think. The new basketball arena was built to hold ice.
Good for them. That will be an interesting story to watch to see how they try to build a team there.
Husker Hockey isn't Coming to The B1G Anytime Soon, But It Does Exist in Club Form - Corn Nation
You obviously don't know what you're talking about. There's a lot of hockey in the state.
Then you must be a sadist.
Is there extra revenue to be gained if Iowa had a hockey program? BTN revenues, ticket, merchandising? If there is then it might be worth the investment, again, I think there is room for 1 division one program in the state of Iowa. If not then this is not worth arguing over as someone mentioned earlier the U of I is not made of money. I can live without Hawkeye hockey.
Iowa state has a D1 hockey program
Just so you know (and you probably do), this is club level hockey with no scholarships, etc.

I am used to reading your stuff, it's ok to wade through this.So why don't let us enjoy the fantasy and go on your merry way. This is obviously painfully stupid for you to read.

Quite a bit of difference between a high level club team and a full fledged d1 program. NDSU has won several NCAA club national championships. UND won't even send a JV team to scrimmage them.Iowa state has a D1 hockey program
It just touched a nerve. Most on here have no idea what it would take to make hockey go at Iowa.I have not seen you this passionate about a topic since Alford was coach.
