I also don't get why some ISU fans feel like the Sweet 16 is realistic next year. I understand the optimism, but the 12th ranked incoming class will not take the worst team in the B12 that far IMO. However I would be excited too, but some (not all) need to have realistic expectations before they get let down.

I purposely want to annoy idiot Cyclone fans because there optimism about a group of felons that couldn't handle it under BETTER coaches and BETTER teams are somehow going to create ISU into some basketball powerhouse is the most ridiculous thing I've heard and deserves to get ridiculed. Especially when it was Cyclone fans claiming the Big Ten is such a weak conference and these players were no good BEFORE they transferred to Iowa State Correctional College.

But the more I listen the more I'm buying into the hype! I've already put Iowa State CC and New Mexico in the championship game next season.

First off, they don't have any felons on their team, learn the definition of a felon, since we are recruiting an ex-felon to play at Iowa, and one of our former coaches allowed a player back on the team who became a felon. I get sick of Iowa fans throwing the crap up when it's not true. If that is all the better you have, give it up.

Second, 99% of the stuff you "hear" you make up to get people going on this board, or you peruse Cyclonefanatic and run back over hear to report it to stir things up.

I graduated from this fine institution, and can say you are the type of fan who make the rest of us look bad. Quite honestly, who gives a rip if they are recruiting a transfer. If that is the route they want to go so be it, when it bites them hard, they will pay the price.

They say Iowa has felons on the football team ALL THE TIME for simple misdemeanors. Just giving it back to them. Goes both ways. They look like fools for clamoring national dominance with a bunch of castaways. That is what is foolish. They have proven nothing.

Cartwright shot below 40% from the floor, below 70% from the line, and 27% from 3 point range....and he took the most shots of anyone on the team. He does a good job running the offense and distributing. But the people on here making him out to be a top guard in the league need their heads examined when he shoots as terribly as he does.

Bingo. Cartwright is maybe the best player on Iowa's team (him or Basabe). But compared to other Big 10 starting PG's....he is average. That is all I'm saying.

Regardless of the record, whether Cartwright is average or not, and what the Cyclone fans think -- I'll enjoy seeing our team actually return next year. No mass exodus as of yet. Maybe Cartwright or someone else has a breakout year actually being with the same group for more than a single season.

Let these young men play out their time at Iowa and we can summarize their effectiveness here when that time is over. I really hope and believe that Basabe can be a Hawkeye great!
