when you have long players that move well a 1-3-1 is a very good trapping half court defense. every defense is beatable if you attack it correctly.
Agree, ever since they really embraced it and went from complete no pulse in the 90s it's been a struggle.It's different and can be tough to prepare for different things...not many college teams play it.
