Why Am I Suddenly Starting to Get Hit With Pop-Up Adds?

These campaigns are not pop up campaigns. They are pop under campaigns. They are supposed to stay behind the browser and not interfere with the user experience..then later at some point when you close the browser, they are there and you can click off of them. Pop unders are used by a number of very large sites. Several that I go to, including kansascity.com and some other newspaper sites.

I took down the autoplay ads because those were too intrusive. I've reduced the number of ads on the whole on this site. But I have to pay the bills with it.

if you are getting pop ups, that stay in front of the content, take a screen shot and email me. if you are just getting pop unders (which you should only get a max of two of them in any 24 hour time period from the same computer) then that is a part of what we're doing right now.

I use Opera and they pop up in front of the content. I will try to get a screen shot.

Thank you. That's not what we want to have happening at all. NOTHING in front and any help you can give me showing examples would be greatly appreciated.

OK...a few things

Porn: those are not coming from our ad provider. They don't have porn campaigns at all. Perhaps if you are seeing those you have malware on your computer from the last time you visited a porn site.

Pop Ups: The pop under function will not work properly if you have HN white listed with your pop up blocker. So if you want to view your PM's in a pop up as opposed to just clicking on your cpanel and have white listed HN from your pop up exclusions, you may encounter some pop ups from time to time.

Of course, this is not what we want. We don't want pop ups. Which is why those with pop up blockers on won't even see the pop unders..and those who don't have a pop up blocker on will get the pop unders which are not intrusive ads.

We'll continue to look at the mobile issue, as those shouldn't be there..may be able to tweak something in our ad server to affect this.

Oh, and if anybody wants to have some fun, install the "Collusion" extension (Chrome or FF) and browse for a while. It will show you all of the sites you browse, and all of the "hooks" that the tracking/ad networks use to track your browsing on the web. Oh what a tangled web we weave...

Here's all of the sites I'm currently on, and their inter-links.

The support team has found an issue specifically with Chrome. They told me they are actively working on it, so this should be resolved
either today or in the next few days. I will keep you posted. Also have heard of same issue in firefox so having them look into that

FWIW, my incident happened on Safari.

Any luck getting this fixed yet? I still have the issue in Chrome. It's set to block pop-ups, and hawkeyenation is NOT whitelisted, yet I still get pop-ups from *.zedo.com all the time.

I'm still getting them on Safari, but they don't appear over my web browser. When I go to close the browser I'll have a bunch of them that I just have close out. Not a big deal really, but they're there.

Having the same problems with IE

I am having this happen on my phone on safari the last couple of days. I click on a link and instead a new window opens up to this c14zedo....whatever thing and then it goes back to JN and the link I clicked on leaving the ad open in another window. I've had the pop-unders on my PC but never on my phone before.

Edit:Here's the link it went to when I clicked submit for this post.
