Who's the next coach at Iowa?

If the rumors are true and Lick is really out at Iowa? Who does Gary Barta go after?
Personally, I don't think Bruce Pearl is a real option. He is happy and successful at Tennessee, unless things there change behind the scenes, I just don't see him moving on.
Who else Keno Davis? I don't think so either. The kids of former coaches hold grudges more than the coach himself especially after the way Iowa treated him. Therefore he doesn't come here. (He needs to learn a new defense first)
Who else?

Steve Forbes...not the flat tax guy, but Bruce Pearl's top assistant at Tennessee. He's a good recruiter and a Lone Tree native.

I have a feeling SF may be a lifetime assistant. Not sure if he'll get a shot at HC job unless its a downward step. JMO though....

Steve Forbes sounds good to me.
I'll take a top assistant of a winning major program over another good mid-major head coach. Even though I like Ben Jacobson, been there done that.

AZ, who do you think would be a good fit?

I really don't keep up on the availabe coaches so I really have no idea. I just think he could bring Pearl's style and sounds like he can recruit. And is an Iowa guy.

Gillespie (sp?) has a lot of baggage but is exactly what I would look for, proven recruiter and can build a program (which is what is going to be asked to do at Iowa)

Arseneault are u kidding me???!?!?!?!?!?

Keno's teams play no D and we've only seen him coach his own recruits once (this year and that went well). No way you get him. I really think Steve Forbes is the best option after Pearl, but if we get Pearl we probably get both of those guys, so that's a high hope. do you really think Grinnell's coach is a step up that people would respect. Not likely.

Just what we need Gary Close another non-charismatic guy....NO CHANCE. Steve Masiello from Louisville is a top 20 asst. coach who can flat out recruit.

Pearl is the only name I'd want on that list.

120 point games are better than 40 points I guess.

I agree. It will prob never happen, but if Iowa did hire Arsenault, it would change the Big Ten. Who wouldn't want to bomb away from 3 in the first 10 seconds of the shot clock? Plus, it would be tough to prepare for the Hawks when they are subbing every minute of the game.
