That was a nice run. Give Wadley as many carries and I'm sure he does the same. I was disappointed in the running game. It wasn't stellar and CJ took too many hits. Iowa should have been demolishing them after awhile on the ground due to how good CJ was at throwing and decisions. He should have been out of the game with the same lead against what MAY be a very bad ISU. Again, Wadley's speed is the issue. It's not hard to look fast against a weak team. I think they compliment each other well. I would want one of them getting more carries in real games LOL all over the place.

Why would you want the 190 lbs running back carrying the ball so much Vs lessor competition? It is a long season, so you run the 230 lbs back 15 time and you run the smaller back 8-10 times in a blow out. I think those numbers are just about right personally.

Again, hard to interpret stats considering the competition, but through 2 games:
  • Daniels: 25 carries, 195 yards (7.8 avg), 3 TDs, 2 runs over 20 yards; 1 rec for 1 yd
  • Wadley: 21 carries, 170 yards (8.1 avg), 3 TDs, 2 runs over 20 yards; 4 rec for 47 yds, 1 TD
I hope they can both keep producing this way.

As an aside, looking through the play-by-plays, VandeBerg has had a ton of explosive plays through 2 weeks. Defenses will have to start tilting towards him soon (like they eventually did last year when T. Smith was injured); I hope J. Smith, Scheel, and McCarron are ready to step up.

Never said differently, just that Wadley is quicker which will show on big games.

But you did say that Wadley was "much better", and you have yet to recant on your assertions that Daniels does not have DI speed, is a role player, and would not play for NW.

Wadley did say he hurt his knee so it sounds like that limited his touches. Also Wadley was supposed to be in the game for Daniels big run last week for what it's worth. I do think Wadley is better but Daniels is really good.

D1 speed on premier teams is what I was referring about. Wadley would start for many top 10 teams. Daniels no.

As much as Iowa was gouging ISU with the pass, I don't think ISU ever adjusted by taking defenders out of the box. Why would they, with KF's known track record of pounding the ball with a big lead? Thus, Iowa was running against a stacked box most of the night, and they rushed 36 times for 198 yards (5.5 avg). They did not have many big plays on the ground (just 2 20+ rushes, the Daniels TD and the VandeBerg reverse), but they were dominating throughout the game. Very few negative runs.

I did not feel like CJB got hit that much. There were quite a few plays that ISU blitzed and he still had all day to throw.

Daniels does start for a top 10 team....the hawkeyes, dumb***. He was the starter when they were in the top10 last year, and he is the starter for a team ranked 10th in the coaches poll this year? Which 'top 10' team would Wadley start for? Have you seen the 'stable' of backs on these teams??? Wadley's a 'good' back playing for the 'right' team to utilize his abilities...

Aren't we the funny one today... Wadley is a great back. Daniels is a good and solid back.

That isn't what you said earlier in the thread. Let me remind you. You said Daniels doesn't have D1 speed, and is a role player and wouldn't play at jNW.

One of those guys has D1 speed at programs that do well. One does not. One can change a game against strong defenses. One is a role player. One could get plays at OSU. One likely wouldn't get plays at NW.

Just give it up already and admit you were wrong. Daniels is a good RB, that doesn't' take anything away from Wadley. Not sure why you feel you have to blast Daniels to say you think Wadley is better anyway. Just say you like Wadley better, many around here will agree with that.

I have no idea, but he doesn't have D1 speed at the premier level NW has had some very good rb's over the years. And I agree that I like Wadley better. I do think KF prizes not losing the ball very much.

That said, you like going after people but present very little original material yourself. That part of it is easy to do....the criticizing stuff. I hope Wadley gets most of the carries against Michigan.

You have a very appropriate moniker, because just about everything you post is 'gold', pure gold I tell ya, lol

Is the Icke party like the Icky that is gross and disgusting? LoL.... from the man who gets a huge reaction around here.

I must be doing something right to get Icky and Dean after me at the same time.

Hugs...

I present my opinion plenty on the site. I am wrong sometimes, I am right sometimes, but I own up to it when I'm wrong.

I do go after what I think to be ridiculous, so what? You have come at me plenty, and once again so what? I have also agreed with you a lot in the past as well. I have gone at Icke, and I have agreed with Icke, and once again so what. Some people take this stuff way too serious.

I'm just having fun.... Btw, I thought you'd get on me about Illanoy/NC. I was pretty wrong.

I can see someone's argument if they want to say that they prefer Wadley. I just thought HawkGold's initial assessment of Daniels was a little insulting, and I thought I would give him a chance to reconsider. He has since conceded that Daniels is a good back, but I get the sense he is waiting for more data (ie a game against an elite D) before offering any praise beyond that. Seems reasonable to me.

I was probably harsh. It was more of a frustration with KF than anything. That said, yes I prefer one over another and I do think its a speed thing. Speed kills. Not having a game breaking WR makes speed at the RB even more important.
