White: tOSU students chanted "We didn't want you"

Before he got that rebound and foul, he missed two free throws in a row. Seeing as how AW shot 40 points below his season average for free throws, I'd say he not only let the OSU fans in his head, but he put out a nice Gouda spread and a chilled Pinot.

Yeah lead the team in scoring on the night... really got into his for sure... yup

It's just another mental game that the visiting team has to play. Unfortunately once White went back at the OSU student section it showed them how much they were in his head, and that they had won. Not saying I respect it or it is justified, but at the same time once the player acknowledges it then the fans have done their job as the player is no longer 100% focused on what he should be focused on.

Could you imagine how awesome it would be if we were playing OSU at home and we got Deshaun Thomas to engage the Hawk's Nest?

Don't be so quick to judge White, I wonder if I would not have reacted the same way if I was in his shoes (especially at his age). Say you were a basketball player and Iowa was never interested in you and you ended up going to another Big Ten school. Being a life long Hawkeye fan how would you feel if you came to Carver and had the students do this to you? Here you are born and raised in Iowa and then come home and have the students at one of the state institutions chant "we didn't want you". I know the right thing to do is to ignore the hecklers, but that is easier said than done.

Nothing will ever beat the "Where's your dad?" and "PLO" chants at Steve Kerr from the ASU fans for inappropriate student section chants. If this bothers White then he just needs to suck it up.

Didn't the ASU coach--I think it was Bill Frieder--actually stop the game and get on the PA system when that happened? IIRC, he said something to the effect that ASU could forfeit then and there. Some ASU students had the gall that week to write the campus paper and say forfeiting wasn't Frieder's call to make without consulting university brass. Thankfully, for one of the few times in modern media history, Arizona commentators and columnists backed Frieder and thought the students insane.

Storm. I seriously cannot believe this comment. I hope to God you are being sarcastic. To suggest the chanting didnt get to Aaron is almost laughable as it was so, so obvious how it impacted him.

I'm not saying it didn't bug him (look at my initial post).
I'm just saying it's not to level that some might project here. It's not like it stayed with him all game. Yeah, it bugged him. He said something back to the crowd. Then went on with the game.

I'll respectfully disagree with you. The chanting ate at him the remainder of the night. Whereas it lit a fire in him, it also took him out of his game mentally. Just my opinion.

If your gonna talk sh#t you gotta back it up. I had no problem with any of the stuff that went on in last nights game.

Personally, the "sucks" chant after every opposing player is announced in the starting lineup inside C-HA is tired, unoriginal and stupid, in my opinion.
oh, is that what they are saying ... it's so sloppy/disorganized I can't even understand them ... LAME

way back in the day, the illannoy football team had a player busted for cocaine, and the Hokk marching band played Clapton's "Cocaine" about a dozen times during the pursuant Iowa-illannoy game in Kinnick, when that loser was in on a play.
Can't remember any moar deets
