White really needs to work on his shot.

^ this. in essence, is the issue. But what I point out is AW's right hand on the ball when he shoots. Try focusing on his ball hand when he shoots free throws. his palm is not on the ball, the contact is with his thumb pad and finger pads. I dont think that can be consistent.

I would think the coaches would work with him to get his palm and whole hand on the ball, get his elbow in the right angle for him, and work on that. I think he would get more consistency and touch on his shots with more spin for a softer bounce

This is how you're supposed to shoot a basketball.

This is not.

39% isn’t a slump. 13% is a slump. So is 24% or whatever Oglesthree is shooting.

You cannot deny that White is in a slump, but it's pretty much only been the last 7-8 games or so. JO has been in a season long slump, which arguably can now be called something different than a "slump".

No, I'm not. Google "how to shoot a basketball." Or play some basketball.

Seeing is believing man. Yes , as you shoot the ball comes off the palm and you release it off the pads of the digits. but all top shooters have it in their whole hand in this position. You shoot a basketball how you want and I will shoot it like I always have and yes , when I played bball some time ago.

I don't think the palm is touching the ball in those pictures and I'm sure all pressure is being applied to the ball by the fingers.

Marble going into a funk hurt White's game. Marble coming out of his funk will help White's game. It will also help that we don't play a ranked team every single game.

White is constantly working on his game. I think he's a better player than last year and will be an improved player next year. He's one of the last players I'm worried about whether it be his shot, his free throws or whatever else.

The ball isn't touching the palm. It might look like it because NBA players' hands are so big. But there should be a little space between the ball and the palm, enough to fit your index finger into.

None of these are pictures of a shooter releasing the shot either. I can't imagine shooting a ball with my entire palm on the ball.

I could literally post thousands of photos of players using correct hand placement, but this argument isn't worthy. It's a matter of physics: to project a sphere with any matter of predictability, using five points of independent contact will always be more reliable than a single, large pressure point.

This. It's no different than trying to throw a palm ball in baseball. That ****'s hard as hell to control. The more points of contact you have, the better.

I don't play basketball anymore and I know the fundamentals of shooting free throws but I totally just watched that whole video just to watch Michael Jordan talk about basketball.
