Where the tourney gets it wrong...

that was as interesting title game as I have ever seen.

Anyone who claims that college basketball is better than the NBA should be forced to watch that game on a loop. Hard to take a tournament seriously when you have a final four like last years.

LOL at Clones fan's poor reading comprehension. I said ISU is one of the best 32 teams in the country but have no shot at being the best team in the country. College basketball teams play enough games to have a pretty good sample size to compare teams across conferences, this isn't football. In any given year, you have at most six teams who could make a case as being the best team in the country. If you're trying to find a true champion, why in the world would you bother inviting 32 teams?

so the 99% of the population that thinks the NCAA tournament is a great way of determining a national championship is wrong, and you are right?

you sir are the 1%

you can set up your tent in college green park with the proper permit

the quality of basketball is not better, obviously. It's the passion of the fans, the tournament, and rooting on my alma mater that makes NCAA ball better than the NBA for me

Has there really been any issue with a majority of National Champions? It's very rare for a team who is not a top 4 seed to win the whole thing. There are a lot of upsets but ultimately a good team wins the tournament. Considering there are a lot of teams in the tournament it does a pretty good job at determining a champ I think.

I'm the 1%, why would I protest? I see your knowledge of current events is on the same level as your college basketball knowledge.

It's a fun way to determine a national champ, but the BCS is a much better way of actually determining the best team in the country.

I love the NBA way more than college but if you show anyone the Nets vs Spurs series from 2003 before repeatedly they might kill themselves.

I completely disagree with the OP. If you're Missouri and you can't beat a 15 seed then you don't deserve to play for the national championship game. There's no reason Missouri should lose to Norfolk St, but they did and that's what I love about March Madness.

You people claiming the NBA gets it right and the NCAA gets it wrong do realize the NBA lets in a higher % of teams than the NCAA. And the higher seeds win the championship at a no higher rate than the NCAA.

If Mizzou was truly deserving of a shot at the title they'd have beaten freaking Norfolk State.

hawfan33 is so mad at you right now. you're bouts to get an ear full...

Are you referring to Butler & UConn in last year's final?

I have disagree on this one. Very, very ugly. 53-41

UConn took a 10 point lead with about 11 mintues left in the game and the closest Butler got after that was 8 or 9.

That game represented everything that is wrong with today's college basketball.

But it doesn't crown a true champion....

Neither does the BCS. Best of 7 is the best way to go, and that won't happen for basketball or football.

Just STFU and enjoy the beauty of the tournament. My bracket is ****ed, too. You're hardly alone, so don't get all butt hurt over your bracket being busted.
