Where does this loss rank?

Clock management doesn't even need to be mentioned any more. Even during his good seasons he was the worst coach I'd ever seen at that.

Too funny. I gave up on this a while ago. Completely baffling. Afraid you might get the ball back and turn it over I guess.

It goes into the grab bag of garbage with Western Michigan, various ISU losses, Central Michigan, Northern Illinios, various Minnesota losses, various Northwestern losses, various Indiana losses, and on and on...It honestly hard to to sort out which is the worst at this point, which says something all by itself.
This. It's hard to keep track any more. This is the SIXTH time that KF has lost to a team that previously in the year lost to a 1-AA team. SIX!

One of the worst losses in decades. I'm done with this organization until Ferentz is gone. This team has weapons and is under utilized! These kids deserve better. Same story, different date.....

It depends. This loss strikes me as bad enough that I will now cling to idle fantasies of this staff coming to their senses, blowing up their offensive philosophy, and TRULY making changes to the way they conduct the offense. If that happens, then this loss will be a good thing, no matter how horrible.

If Iowa sticks with this offensive philosophy, which I cannot understand or follow, then this loss will be the one that finally put me in the bitter anti-Ferentz crowd. Not taking any risks on offense is as risky as chucking it downfield and hoping for the best.

I will be very surprised if they commit to any philosophical changes, so for me, right now, this is the worst loss I can remember. It's the middle of September and it already feels like this season is lost.
this is good. it's not the worst loss i can remember. losing to middle-MAC teams or bad Minny and NW teams is worse. but this is down there in the bottom ten.

when will the calls be made from Cy fans to rename kinnick, "East Jack Trice"?

having a losing record to your less-talented, smaller resourced rival is bad. Michigan coaches get fired for having losing records against their rival.

That Central Mich game was poor a couple seasons back. This one almost as poor, ranked right along with those two duds up at Minney.
Played bad teams and lost.

Agree we have had more bad losses, some of the most shocking. I am simply punch drunk trying to relive each one.

Many have a common theme. 100% inability to move the ball, make plays and score points against some horrible defenses and teams.

The really depressing part is that every hawk fan could see it and feel the end coming...because we've seen it so many times before.

I personally think the two Minnesota losses in Minneapolis in recent years were awful, and this game reminded me of that level of malaise.

It is hard to get those two Minny losses out of ones mind.

Im 23, my first game was 97, went to 3 games each year from 2001-2004 and family finally got season tickets in 2005. So yes I know I have never experienced many "bad losses", but iv seen my fair share.

But for some reason, yesterday was the most disgusted I have ever been after a game. This loss may not have been as bad as other times iowa lost to isu, but I think what made this one a top 5 loss to me, was the fact the iowa coaches cost themselves the game. I feel ISU did nothing to earn that win. The iowa coaches failed to get their play makers on the field, terrible play calling, and timeout managing.

My top 5 losses, in no particular order: 2010 Minnesota, 2012 C.Mich, 2007 W.Mich, 2005 ISU, 2014 ISU.

I am in my 40s as well. This loss ranks up there BECAUSE this mismanaged loss against a bad opponent happened with a "newer" coaching staff in place. Despite the rather new staff we saw the same results... Playing not to lose... Losing to a bad team ... Building a 14-3 lead and then slowly just watch them chip away at it. Being out coached by a mediocre coach, at home. ... Against an ISU that really did not even play that great. ISU did not play over its head... We are just that bad.
