This. It's hard to keep track any more. This is the SIXTH time that KF has lost to a team that previously in the year lost to a 1-AA team. SIX!It goes into the grab bag of garbage with Western Michigan, various ISU losses, Central Michigan, Northern Illinios, various Minnesota losses, various Northwestern losses, various Indiana losses, and on and on...It honestly hard to to sort out which is the worst at this point, which says something all by itself.
I don't think it ranks all that high. This is a 7-5 team playing a 11-1 schedule.
this is good. it's not the worst loss i can remember. losing to middle-MAC teams or bad Minny and NW teams is worse. but this is down there in the bottom ten.It depends. This loss strikes me as bad enough that I will now cling to idle fantasies of this staff coming to their senses, blowing up their offensive philosophy, and TRULY making changes to the way they conduct the offense. If that happens, then this loss will be a good thing, no matter how horrible.
If Iowa sticks with this offensive philosophy, which I cannot understand or follow, then this loss will be the one that finally put me in the bitter anti-Ferentz crowd. Not taking any risks on offense is as risky as chucking it downfield and hoping for the best.
I will be very surprised if they commit to any philosophical changes, so for me, right now, this is the worst loss I can remember. It's the middle of September and it already feels like this season is lost.
Which I do not get because he <Kurt (just wait for his press conference, Tuesday) Ferentz> is a smart, well-organized person.. an obsessive-compulsive person.
Agree we have had more bad losses, some of the most shocking. I am simply punch drunk trying to relive each one.
Many have a common theme. 100% inability to move the ball, make plays and score points against some horrible defenses and teams.
The really depressing part is that every hawk fan could see it and feel the end coming...because we've seen it so many times before.
I personally think the two Minnesota losses in Minneapolis in recent years were awful, and this game reminded me of that level of malaise.
