What's the offensive game plan vs. IU?

Is this going to be a more "pass first" game plan with few reverses to DJK and Sandeman, with Reisner featured, and some WR screens?

Why not? If they test the waters with your ideas, and everything is smooth and stable, then Coker could breathe easier and run into fewer walls.

I don't know that our normal plan will change much. Establish some run game, lots of short PA then a few deep throws off PA, a couple wrinkles with reverse and maybe a reverse pass. I think we may pass a bit more if AROB cant go and COker and Rogers can't dominate but I don't think our plan will change too much.

Hopefully it doesn't have to change much at all. Would be sweet if we can dominate with the run, and hit DJK deep multiple times.

It will be business as usual...Coker's "Freshmanitis" isn't in running the ball, it's in reading protections and picking up blocks. Coming out slinging it around would play to his weaknesses. The Hawks will come out and get him some carries to get him acclimated and they probably will throw it more, but it will be more of a balanced attack than you might think. But I do agree that we may see more screens and end arounds today as well...just to keep Indiana honest.

Game plan is establish Coker. Plain and simple. He will be the ingredient that puts Iowa over the top. This is the perfect game to give him starter reps and it couldn't have come at a better time.

Everything else will fall into place.

Score enough points to get out of Bloomington with a "W". I don't care how they do it just get the "W"

Coker is more than capable of running the ball. I don't think we see much difference in today than what we've seen all year. Iowa will try to establish the run early to set up the pass. Coker might not see quite as many carries as AROB, but he'll be around 20 for the game.

I agree with Coker getting around 20 carries. But I say a couple more. The tight ends will also figure prominently.

This game will be won by our offensive and defensive lines. We'll need to smack them in the mouth early and set the tone.

A lot will depend on how Coker and Rogers practice. They're not going to want to sacrifice Ricky due to blown protection by Coker. They might want to roll the pocket out a little bit more when Coker is in (when passing the ball).

I definitely think that they'll try to establish the run. The play calling tends to be a bit more conservative at away games because you don't want to allow the home team to gain much momentum. Of course, I think that we'll see plenty of the short to mid-ranged passing game too.

Scratch where it itches...let Ricky make the call. If they load up on first down...throw. Then run on second and short. Keep them off-balance. Get the lead passing on first down, then once out front, run the ball.
Marvin and DJK can beat their guys...use them early.

I think it will be conservative as hell. I agree with whoever said that the staff will be worried about Coker in PP. Roll outs, play action and three step drops is what I expect to see in the passing game. I think Rogers and Coker could rotate series a la Robinson and Wegher last season. It shouldn't matter as Indiana isn't great on D and struggles to tackle.
