What if Jake craps the bed

So let's say that Jake comes out and plays poorly and somebody notices...will

a> KF sit him down and put in another players that gives the team a better chance of winning or

b> Just run the ball

c > Do nothing because it gives the team the best chance to win.

Not a matter of if, it when with Jake. No one in America can triple pump and deliver the ball to the flat like he can. I see option C happening because Kirk sees CJ in the same light as he did DJK.

I hope if JR has a bad half of football, that we see CJ in the second half. It is a 2 game season at this point, and what is best for you team in the current moment is now the most important thing. If a players isn't performing, put someone else in....QB controversy, or hurting a players "development" be damned.

If he has a bad quarter, or even bad 2-3 series...CJ should get a shot....early. If either JR or CJ have a wholr Bad half....it will be out of reach.

My contention since the Pitt game has been I don't care who starts...but there should be a 2-3 series leash if the QB is struggling. Again, I believe both QBS are capable and have different strengths.

True, if the O goes 3 and out in the first 2 series no reason not to give him a shot, as it could be too late if you wait too long.

Jake is the QB and unless he gets hurt or Iowa is up by 50 points he will be our QB.

Kirk has made his decision at that point and with the importance of these two games he's not going to second guess his starting QB.

I totally agree with this. Give them 2-3 series. If they are not performing, take them out. Playing JR most of the game not doing a whole lot and then watching CJ march down the field and score right away is getting old.

You are absolutely correct...

And that is why we have already lost these 2 games before they have even began. Coaching mindsets that will not change.

What, you didn't see what happened when Jake crapped the bed in the Minny game?

KF will just say the same thing - "We thought about putting CJ in, but decided there was no point."

What if he literally craps the bed? Would it get reported? Would Kirk comment on it? - "You try to do your best and maybe empty things before bed but mistakes happen, obviously he has to control his bowels better and I take full responsibility on that. As a coach I have to make sure they guys are eating medium salsa."

You could be right about option C. But you reasoning about DJK is pure BLABBER

This^. It's a shame we're even talking about Jake, CJ should have been the starter since the Pitt game.

After two decades of coaching we wonder what KF is likely to do? Although he has gone for it on fourth down more this season than he has he entire career. So ........

"Just need to clean a few things up."

If it's like the Nebby game, Wisky's going to be coming after him a lot. Iowa will need to figure that out because Jake doesn't do too well under that kind of pressure, IMO.
