What if Jake craps the bed

So honest question if Jake gets the hook and CJ fails just as miserably, then what?

I'm not saying CJ shouldn't get a shot, but I've seen him perform just as poorly as I have JR. I think w tend to put CJ up on a pedestal that he hasn't necessarily earned, simply because JR has struggled at times. If the switch is made CJ still has to perform, and I'm not guaranteed that that'll be a game changer in either of the upcoming games. Just as much will still rely on the other 10 guys out there playing.

Der KirkFer is going to have CJB ready for this game -- clipboard in one hand, roll of tp in the other. When JR craps the bed, CJB will be ready to go candy striper to get JR cleaned up for the next series.

#well prepared.

If he has a bad quarter, or even bad 2-3 series...CJ should get a shot....early. If either JR or CJ have a wholr Bad half....it will be out of reach.

My contention since the Pitt game has been I don't care who starts...but there should be a 2-3 series leash if the QB is struggling. Again, I believe both QBS are capable and have different strengths.

I concur. Iowa isn't playing Purdue or ILL this week.. You can't wait until the 3rd quarter if the starting QB is struggling. Iowa might very well be down 28-3 by the time a 3rd quarter QB change is made. That's assuming the D doesn't play better than most of us are expecting. Personally, I think this could apply even if it's a 7-3 game. Iowa is gonna need to score some points to win this one.

Well, then we're probably hosed, frankly. But if you take JR out and CJB doesn't play any better, I guess there's no reason you can't go back to Rudock.

I can't argue with the rest of your post. It's going to take more than good QB play to win this one. Gonna have to be able to at least slow down Wisky's offense, particularly the ground game. If that doesn't happen, I doubt it'll make any difference who we're playing at QB.
