What does each team lose next year...

It's definitely possible that Bohannon won't be quick enough to get a shot off in D1. It doesn't sound like that's the case tho. It's also possible Ellingson would be pretty good if he was forced into lots of minutes.

This. And I have no idea how good anyone on our bench will be. They don't play enough to show what they can do with extended minutes and 8 to 10 shot attempts.

So you say Williams has virtually done nothing this year, then you say there is no way an incoming freshman can beat him out? I heard Kenyon Murry in a podcast (he's an iowa high school coach) say he has the handles to play PG in the Big 10. He just needs to get bigger. He also said he shoots 5 feet behind the 3 point line effortlessly.

Ok, so by 'done nothing' I mean Williams hasn't played much. With that said, he has been in a college weight room for year, been under Frans guidance for a year, playing with the Iowa players in practice every day for a year (and in games a little).

I think it's crazy that so many think Bohanon is THAT good or Williams is THAT bad, that Bohanon can just walk in and start first game next year.

I don't know if I've seen a single post on here that said they assumed Bohannon would start. I'll I've said is the bar isn't set so high by Williams that it makes it impossible for Bohannon to pass him. It's also possible that Cook could be better than Wagner. Who knows. They're only a year apart and guys are better than players a year older than them all the time.

Yeah of course I'm not saying Williams is a shoe-in, or anyone is for that matter. My original point was that Williams is likely the front runner. Is he not?

Your original post said "there is no way Bohannon comes in and beats out Williams". Williams is the front runner now by default. All I was saying is Bohannon doesn't have to beat out Magic Johnson. The position is there for the taking. I should ad that I have a feeling Williams is gunna be pretty darn good here.

All I said is that Williams and Bohannon will share the PG duties. I'm very confident when I say that Fran won't play either of them 40 minutes a game.

Here's Brady Ellingson's stats from HS and Ellingson is quite a bit bigger than Bohannon. I think Williams will be our PG next year and he'll end up being a pretty good one

High school -- Finished his prep career as Hamilton High School's all-time leading scorer with 1,763 points... back-to-back Greater Metro Conference Player of the Year (2013 and 2014)... two-time all-state and three-time Greater Metro Conference first team honoree... two-time team MVP and three-time team captain... first team WBCA All-State, second team Associated Press All-State, and first team All-Waukesha County and first team All-Lake County honoree as a senior... selected to play in the 2014 WBCA All-Star Game... averaged 24.8 points per game, 4.3 rebounds and 2.65 assists his senior season... shot free throws at a 92 percent clip his season year... shot a school single-season record 48 percent (86-of-179) from 3-point territory

It was a huge step up in class for Ellingson and I suspect for Bohannon too. It's tough to get an open shot on the perimeter in the B10 freeing yourself or getting a kick out pass when you don't have an inside post presence. Time will tell. They both seem like they would All American D3 players or amazing in H O R S E.

B10 impact? Not sure. National impact? Marcus Paige

Every Bohannon has been a decent player and I don't expect any different than this one. He's lived and breathed BB since he could walk. He plays for an outstanding HS coach in Chris Robertson(shout out to a former coworker) He could end up being the best of the bunch.

He isn't this year. He's nothing more than the guy that rotates in to get our 3 guards a breather. But I'm not ready to right him off based on his limited playing time.

Ellingson is already taking wayyyy too much grief on this board for a bench player getting 5-7 minutes a game.

It's really silly.

Isn't Jordan the smallest Bohannon of the bunch? Jason was a good recruit that ended up at Wisconsin. Matt was a mediocre recruit that chose UNI over Creighton. Jordan chose us over South Dakota State. I'm a little skeptical

Don't forget about Zach!!

About time for a final list Windsor.

I hope he doesn't see the floor at all... he's out of his league. He's a recruit that we missed on. No other way of putting it.

He played 250 minutes last year so obviously Fran sees something in him.

He didn't play in 6 of the last 8 games. In the last 10 games, he played a total of 10 minutes combined.

Fran saw something at the end of the season... Brady got an opportunity and couldn't do anything with it.

Ellingson was a RS freshman last year. Other players struggled their first year on the floor as well and turned it around. Could see him coming off the bench and giving a few quality minutes here and there. Or I could see it not working out as well. We'll see.
