Err, the Stars are in St. Paul.

the empty seats are fans who bought tickets to watch Drake and Iowa St. Many don't care to spend 6 hrs in the Well. I would guess many of the Iowa and UNI fans split after their game, leaving an empty seat as well.
What Iowa fan in their right mind would stick around to watch the Clowns play Drake. Maybe to root against them but hell i can go home and do that and not have to listen to their mindless drivel.
I enjoyed it. Sat next to the uni student session. Shut them up with several well timed taunts. Being able to run smack on some loser Drake and isu fans after was just a bonus.
You didn't have to do anything really to shut up 20 students. UNI had a drawing for 50 students to win a seat to the game. I won one and was there, but I know a few people didn't go because they didn't have a friend going or whatever, so there were probably 20-30 students there. Later on, I think people realized no one was coming, and everyone moved down and people with worse seats were moving down into that section too.
In case you were wondering, I supported my school wearing purple, but was hoping the Hawks would win. Didn't cheer either way really, but nearly did when Gesell hit that and one.

Aren't even a tavern hok, You gotta cheer for the Hawks in that situation
Had I bought the ticket I would have, but since the school gave it to me, I thought I better not.
You are right Jack man the Clones got screwed in that game.
Yep, and it's the Wild! Still called Minnesota.
$70 was a lot of money for the ticket. However, I was 15 rows up and just between the free throw line and the top of the key. Really close to the action, and it was pretty darn exciting! Even though my Carver/H-I ticket is dead center court and 25 rows up, I was a lot closer to the action at WF. The quickness, the physical play, the hand checks, the violence underneath the basket, the speed of the ball when it was passed, were fascinating. I could clearly see the expressions on the faces of the coaches and the players. And, I got to watch Ed H. screw up royally a couple of times!
I made a mini vacation out of the trip. 6 hours to Des Moines from home; 2 nights at the Quality Inn right next to the arena. Attended the Hawkeye Huddle; had two of the best fresh seafood meals in recent memory. Listened on the radio to the Packers beat the Bears on the way home. And, though I will be judged a complete idiot from what I've read above, I stayed and watched the entire Drake/ISU game and really enjoyed it. I love college basketball...some of the very best athletes around.
Will go back next year, God willing and the creek don't rise.

There is no such thing as a "loser Drake" fan.
