Wells Fargo Arena

Just got back to KC from the game. Hawkeye fans dominated the crowd. I was expecting more fans overall, but a decent showing from UNI, a good showing from Hawk fans and very poor from ISU and Drake. The arena was empty after the Iowa/UNI game!

DSM wants to be a good sports city...it really does. It just isnt

It's so cute. DSM is like Kansas City's little brother trying to fit into its comically over-sized clothes.

Also, stop naming every "professional" sports team in DSM Iowa this or Iowa that. You're not Iowa.

It didn't look good on TV. Lot's of empty seats. I considered attending, but when I saw the ticket prices, my couch and a cold beer looked waaaaaay better.
But you get 2 games you say? I've got as much interest in watching Drake vs ISU as I do a MLS match.

Works for Minneapolis. :)

What is the capacity of that place? Smaller than Carver?

It looked like very poor attendance while watching on TV. Seems kind of pathetic with is being billed as a great location and idea of the two games there. I would expect better turn out and no empty seats.

Attendance was good. The upper deck was just about full, especially behind the baskets. However, there were 4 sections in the upper level that were almost completely empty, which I thought was weird considering those seats were better than the behind the basket seats.

Lower level was sparse to start off, but filled in nicely as the game went on as more ISU fans showed up.

It was a fun environment. There were probably 8,000 Iowa fans there.

The 1,000 fouls called in both games had to hurt the atmosphere.
True and Ed wasn't the problem. I enjoyed the day. Iowa had a much more visible presence in the lower level and I don't know if being the host contributed to that or not. Also, dont understand why the fans that sat in the upper level didn't move down for the 2nd game.

I enjoyed it. Sat next to the uni student session. Shut them up with several well timed taunts. Being able to run smack on some loser Drake and isu fans after was just a bonus.
