Well, well WHAR the whiners?

I'm probably one of those "whiners" you were complaining about. I doubted Kirk could change. I said I'd believe it when I see it. I'm still cautiously optimistic still especially with all the recent injuries. I'm glad he's rolling the dice more even if I don't agree with the some of the times he does roll them I disagreed (and still do disagree) with not tying the game at 3 all when he went for it on 4th down early in the game.

I'm glad Iowa is 5-0. Don't fall in the trap vs. Illinois and beat NW and Iowa's 95% likely to win the division. With OSU and MSU not living up to the hype thus far maybe the "big 12 north" has a chance to pull one over on the "big 12 south". yes, I'm using metaphors for those who didn't get that the big 12 north = big 10 west and big 12 south = big 10 east. Even if people say "teh big 1G sukz" (and, yeah, it's kinda true at this point. They're better than the ACC though) a division win is still a win. Not saying it's a done deal but I honestly didn't think Iowa would contend (or that northwestern would be ranked 13th for that matter........who saw that coming).

I don't know how this whole season will shake out so far but I'm happy that Iowa is 5-0 and has 2 trophies back in their possession. Based on what I heard coming out of camp in the summer about the offensive line getting tore up on a daily basis I was thinking the worst. Now I'm thinking big 10 west title is a possibility. How many of you can HONESTLY say that during the summer? It was based on one thing, Ferentz and his inability to change. Well, he's changed enough to win 5 games thus far. I'm not making plans to watch Iowa in the big 10 title game but, unlike the preseason, I can actually picture it happening now so, yes, I can admit I was off about this season so far.

God forbid people complain after a 4-8 season and a 7-5 season where we looked awful all season long and got embarrassed in our bowl game. We should have just sat idly by like nothing was wrong.

These holier-than-though people that don't realize this is what should have been happening the past 5 seasons instead of 34-30 crack me up. The "I was never critical of Iowa so I am a super fan and you're not" crowd really are the biggest whiners of all. They just can't seem to understand that the fans critical of our head coach (NOT THE PLAYERS) were only expecting the Iowa program to perform exactly the way it is now. So you see, we were actually correct in demanding this from kfootball when all you all could muster was a "just be happy we have a nice man as our coach" insight.

Seriously, why would any fan that was critical of kfootball in the past be critical of him this season? And please, for God's sake, don't mistake in-game critique's as not being an Iowa fan. You folks crack me up.

KFz deserves all the praise he's getting for the way he's reinvented the program this year. Few saw it coming and it's exciting as hell. Looks like Hawkeye football again!

He also deserved all the criticism he got for the last few years. I'm sure it was part his motivation for the above.

Too tough for you to understand?

Yahtzee.

They have been proven wrong all year. I think they are in hiding.

but they put a man on the moon.

they created the longer lasting light bulb,

I know they aught to make a law against typing then when they mean than or to when they mean too

I'll led them off the hook.

I didn't renew my season tickets this year. I could no longer justify driving 4.5 hours 8 Saturdays each fall to watch mediocre and uninspiring football. Did I make the right decision at the time? better believe it.

Will the university of iowa be waiting for me with open arms next year if we want to renew? Of course.

The money we saved with season tickets and gas money went into a 65" 4k television and will go towards the game in Indianapolis and/or wherever their bowl fortunes take them.

Besides...with the new setup Barta has created we just have to out donate people to get better seats and priority. So it's really not a big deal.

Also, like other people have already said...the whiners and detractors probaby helped lead to ferentz's willingness to change his ways

That's right. I had as much influence on the program, sitting here in NC on the interweb and anybody.

er...

maybe.

For crying out loud, it's way too early to judge KF's reinvention or lack thereof this season. Five games so far. Matter of fact, KF has, IMO, reinvented himself and 'unreinvented' himself this season when you count him going back to old habits in the second half of the Wisky game. Offensive playcalling was old school KF in the second half. No screens or slants or any other deception when Wisky blitzed because Wisky bottled up Iowa's running game in the second half. Few passes on running downs and vice-versa.

KF has rarely trusted players. He trusts maybe a handful. That is also old school KF.

That and he probably realized in order to pass this onto BF he needed to make changes.

Thank god the fans whinned so much. I think it had a lot to do with Kirk making the switch at QB. People should be thanking all those crappy fans cause withouth them we would be sitting at 2-3 or 3-2 right now.

Do you honestly believe that fans whining on an internet forum had anything at all to do with the decision? If you do then I have some prime farmland to sell you; it's just south and west of Miami...

The whining and anger was just. So what if Iowa is 5-0 now, that doesn't mean we as fans didn't have a right to be ****** about the product on the field last year and 2013. I don't get the comparison?

I love the Hawks and am thrilled with how they are playing and how the coaching staff is game planning, but mediocre is mediocre and that isn't acceptable. Season isn't even halfway over yet.

Also...the whining and not renewing season tickets may have contributed to the "new Kirk". So maybe you should thank us for the 5-0 start instead of calling is out???

Maybe the not renewing season tickets, but I doubt that whining on an internet forum is what motivates any coach including Kirk.

Said it before and ill say it again. I always support the Hawkeyes but Kirk lost my support. They were playing football in Iowa City long before Kirk and will do so long after he is gone. But I've also said that if he wins a conference title I'll shut my mouth as long as he stays.

I was certainly critical of the program, the direction it seemed we were heading, and what appeared to be just pandering from the AD. I believe Kirk truly did some serious time in front of the mirror this off season and it shows. That makes me respect Kirk even more, as really making hard changes is one of the most difficult things to do.

This team just feels good. The ceiling is higher now, but even if we only get 9 wins I'm still very impressed with our Hawks and what Ferentz has done. Some really great new building blocks have been lined up.

We are here and are rightfully critical of some football decisions over the 74 poll drought that's where we are. Very excited to see how high this win total can go. All of you polly anna's on here that think we should revel in 4-8 seasons are clueless. While many of us were calling for CJ to get a chance you sat on your hands and said everything was fine. While KF was out fundraising and not coaching we were mired in mediocrity at best. So, before you hurl and spew "na na na na na nahhhhh". Look at some of the changes made. They were made because people didn't sit idly by.

Whar? Whar?

Whar are the geniuses who quit on the Hawkeyes
& didn't renew ticket orders and b((((ed and moaned all
summer long?

Now that the HAWKEYES are 5-0, ranked in the Top 25, rolling thru the
2015 BigTen season, did those folks run over to
LAmes, or maybe to the school of Nowledge, further west?

LOL #goHawks

You do realize that the whole point of cutting off financial support was to make a point things needed to change?

and what happened.

Does this start somehow erase the last 5 years of poor performance to you?

yeasterday was the first win of any significance in five years. Five years!

Were all happy things are looking good but you sound like a fool for acting like this is some kind of "told you so" moments.

Its an about freaking time moment.

You should be thanking the people who stopped buying season tickets. They were right.
