We need to find ways to get Micah Hyde the ball

Had he not tripped over his own feet on a punt return late in the 3rd Saturday, he was gone. There was nobody on that side of the field.

This.

I have to wonder if he saw it too. If he wouldn't have housed that, he would have had a big return. I said this this the other day. He fields the punt with confidence (if that makes any sense). He fair caught when necessary, but he did return the ones he could.

I have a feeling that Steele Pantz is going to get him the ball at least once on Saturday. ;)

Ahhh aeishield! You beat me to it!

Collectively, people that ***** about Hyde not getting teh ball are among the dumbest on Earth.

I sit next to this white trash dude who is always trying to tell me what play Iowa should run. He told me he had to sell his crappy boat just to get season tickets. Last game he was all ****** because he got caught trying to bring this white trash cooler in the game. They took it away from him and he wouldnt shut up about how he stole it and it was one of his favorite things. Now hes on this kick where every other play he stands up and yells "Hey give der ball to number 18 Hyda he faster than that Dwight feller". Cant stand this prole.

Ohhhh and he keeps requesting that they serve mashed potatos at Kinnick.

Not to sound like one of the "BLITZ KURT!" folks, but it would be saweeeet to see Hyde corner-blitz.
Could engage Steely rather quickly......

It would help if he caught punts instead of letting them hit the turf. Colin hardly ever let one drop to the turf. Hyde lets at least a third of them hit

if you still have the "game film=" go back and watch the qb draw for a td. watch where he comes from and watch where he gets to while the qb is pulling away from the freshman corner (whos supposed to be fast) down the sideline.
=

This is completely correct, he didn't have an angle and still nearly made the play, but how fast is lynch because he outran Buford- that was troubling.

i have no issue with him not fielding kicks. especially the sgort kicks. wet turf + blustury conditions make it almost impossible to know hawk far a guy will kick it.

lol wut?

i have no problem with trying to get hyde the ball more. but anyone who claims he is as fast as dwight is ignorant. dwight had olympic speed.

at drake in football weight (likely 15 lbs heavier than ideal track weight) he ran a 4x400 split out of the blocks (typically slowest split in 4x400) faster than all his teammates and 3 of the 4 baylor runners. the 1 baylor guy he didnt beat was their anchor and a future olympian (i believe he medalled). this was his rookie yr in the pros when he came back and ran for iowa. he had speed that no one on iowa's team could touch.

taking nothing away from Dwight lets get real here. The fastest he ever ran was 10.3 in the 100. Thats not even good enough for the fastest hs time in Iowa history (Haluska ran 10.2 if memory serves). His combine 40 time was something like 4.6. Those are hardly world class or Olympic numbers.

That said Timmy D was plenty football fast, and Hyde is in the same league.

Buford was gaining on Lynch pretty fast until about the 15/20 yard line. I'm not sure if Lynch kicked it up a notch or Buford quit running, but either way it is hard to say Lynch "outran" Buford.

actually know that I think about it, dwight might not have been the fastest guy on his Iowa teams.

i didnt say 100 i said 400 like the true athletes in track run. he ran world class times. he won the 400 hurdles as a frosh in hs and the reason he ran was because joey woody (future olympian got hurt) so timmy ran and qualified and later won. look up tim's times in 400 and then realize he was running at football weight. hyde aint close.

yep, nothing measures football speed better than 400 meter hurdle times.

big 10 champ in the 100m, in the 4x100m relay and in the 4x400m relay. so the guy ran the 100m better than anyone in the big 10 but he isnt faster...ignorance.
