I hate to say this but outside of Nieman who should be seeing some PT now in place of Bower we have nothing else at LB.

Our DE's are pretty bad also outside of Ott.

I thought the same thing watching the game, just looked incredibly slow. I couldn't believe it.

A team can have all the speed it wants, it doesn't do any good if all the speed is just standing on the sideline.

Speed and talent are not the same thing. Speed is measured in straight lines and football is played in indirect lines and around obstacles.

Iowa lacks talent on defense and on offense they are so messed up it really doesn't matter.

I couldn't believe all the times, when Minnesota ran edge plays, that Iowa safeties had their backs turned to the running back. Can't tackle someone if your back is turned to them. If the Minny runner barrels into the back of the Iowa safety is that clipping? I guess Iowa was loading the box and blitzing the run so much that they missed Minny's edge rushes. Combination of bad game planning and bad athletes? Well, I guess we could say that game plan limited Cobb's yards, somewhat, but allowed other runners to go wild.

Iowa makes everyone else on every team look like All-Americans.....yesterdays game was extremely painful to watch....I watched the 1st drive, great play calling (converting on 3rd downs), and getting in the endzone...went outside for not even 30 minutes, came back, and the rest was history.....slow to the ball, slow to react....when is it that Iowa will have a fast offense & a fast defense? Probably never I suppose....

Please give info about Mitchell and Harris, I dont follow recruiting too much or know some of the younger players.

It wasnt even funny. We had guys on defense on the edge who were froze like deers in a headlight. We had little answer for Cobb breaking to the outside and the Jet Sweep.

Marylands speed, Minny looked much faster than us, even ISU in the end of the first half and most of second half were faster than us.

Now this does not bode well for playing wisky and nebby, I am not sure how fast Illinois is (I hope not fast).

Recruiting needs to find some more speed.

But what do we do for now, well are edge defenders need to get a step into the offensive backfield at least to maybe turn that runner in toward more tacklers. but whatever dont let them outside.

And should KF make speed a major factor in recruiting???

Sad thing is...Minney aint fast.....
