We get Butler back after the bye week, more weapons = more wins?

This is what KF has done. Told people that the good fans are the ones who lower their enthusiasm. The rest of your post I agree with.

KF did that? He must have told that to someone behind closed doors.

My enthusiasm is off the charts for every game, I'd wager that goes for every real Iowa fan.

Confidence? Optimism? Those probably waiver for most, they do for me.

This may seem off topic but I still remember Brian's senior year on signing day they for some reason had all the signed recruits in for a press conference. A reporter asked Brian if he had always dreamed of playing for his dad and he responded "Actually my dream was to play for Coach Fry" which had the room howling with laughter. As a player and eventually a team captain I always thought he had bright, insightful things to say and seemed his own man even at such a young age.

To try and tie this into the thread I think Brian and his dad on the offensive side will use the bye week to continue to tweak things with much tougher contests coming ahead. Kirk very much has his own way of how he likes to play but at his age which matches mine you mellow and just kind of take things as they come. I feel much better after yesterday that he and Brian can continue to mesh to find ways to make the offense work.

They constantly complain about threads with critiques but never post in positive threads. Kinda says a lot about their purpose here.

Sorry, was in Seattle and don't like posting on tablet or phone beyond a casual post in game thread.

Butler being back might help, assuming he is effective. A bigger question, for me, is the "MIA" status of Matt Quarrells. I can't believe he hasn't gotten up to speed enough to be kept off the field by three true freshmen.

Easley has been a nice surprise. But where, oh where, are Falconer and Devonte Young?

I'd rather see more Young than Butler. He didn't show much against weak competition.

You don't think his overall resume is slightly more impressive than Young? Even if Young suddenly turned into Jerry Rice I guess I don't see how having Butler back is a negative???????

Whatever, you don't know me at all then. Lol. A completely absurd statement.

I'm not closing the book on Butler either. Iowa's O-line wasn't quite up to par and Butler was just getting acclimated and in the infancy of the season. The line was still being shuffled around a bit. Will see what he does when healthy and when the line is in unison more.

Nobody said it was a negative, you drama queen. By default his resume is more impressive because he's a senior, and I'd rather have Young getting reps because he's going to be here a lot longer. Butler also hasn't shown a whole lot number-wise that would indicate he's much better than Young. One could argue the opposite, actually.

Did I say having him back was a negative? I would rather get a young player time as Butler hasn't done much against weak competition and he won't be back.
