You should see when they actually paint one. Unless it's changed, on the newer round ones like this, It's a guy hanging from a cable from the top, with his feet up against the tower spraying paint on it.
I watched a guy do it years back.

I'm OSHA Safety man, I love the hard hat and vest and safety glasses. This would makes an excellent poster for the OSHA Safety Training Manual.

I would go up there as long as I was personally tied off with safety harness as well as the gang way be maybe double tied off.

How many times does it look they and or the platform are tied off?
