Watching the PTL games

Fran also had an in with Monte Morris and admitted he didn't recruit him because he said he was comfortable with Mike and Sapp. It's easy to say trust Fran but did you trust Fran at the end of games last season when he ran an ISO for Mike every time?

Fran didn't run iso's for Mike. Look around and watch everyone else moving around and setting screens for each other. For people who don't pay attention, it looks like iso to Mike because after the play breaks down he has no choice but to try to do something with it.

I still don't know that I always "trust Fran" at end of game situations

Fran has done a really nice job of bringing this program back from the Toilette. His team's are competitive and fun to watch. The only thing lacking is that in crunch time guy, go to guy, Mr. Clutch, ice in veins...... I would love to see him land that type of player. I am hoping we have one for this upcoming season. The last couple of years there has been talk about dead eye shooters coming into the program but we never see these guys on the court in the last five minutes of a game. It's VERY frustrating and aggravating to see this over and over again.

The tail end of two out of the last three seasons we have seen this also reflected in the last part of conference games. I thought with all the seniors leadership last year the results would have been different. I sure hope Fran can figure it out and correct the cause of this. Another late season collapse would mean three out of four years it has happened and that should never be acceptable to anyone.

Unless some of these younger fellas can step up big time, history says this will be a very tough year for the team during the conference schedule.

This team is going to look completely different from past McCaffery teams. It remains to be seen how they play this year, but offensively and defensively they are going to have a completely different look.

56 and Lightning need to listen to the Hawk Central podcast. Both Chad and Mark raved about how improved CW was and how good he played. They also were impressed by Bohannons shooting and ball handling (still wondered if he could guard B1G PG)

Also of note they say that Conner is coming in EXCLUSIVELY at Pg. They say he and CW will man the PG and Bohannon slides to SG/combo guard.

I think this make sense and is pretty clear to see. All the recruiting target for '17 are Big men, same for '18 as well. We have Conner and Weiscamp coming in as PG and Wing in the '17 & '18 classes already.

Now I'm sure 56 and Lightning will tell us this is going to doom us, but it is clearly the plan.
And who are "Chad and Mark" and why are we giving them basketball credibility? Do they make their living selling Iowa sports to fans like you?

And I have been saying that Connor was coming in to play PG, since he first committed. Most of you guys argued that he was coming in as a small forward because that was what the recruiting sites listed him as. Those clowns are 2 YEARS BEHIND my statement of fact about where Connor would play. Yet somehow these guys have more credibility???????? Got it.

I follow them, because they have access to the program that people like you don't. They are tied into it, interview players, talk to coaches, they have a way greater feel of it than we do, like it or not.

I consume everything Hawkeye that I can find, I'm not ashamed of it. As a matter of fact I even waste my time arguing with fellow Hawk fans who I think are idiots......I probably need to seek professional help actually.

You must have a warped vision of Marble as a freshman. Time does that.
Yeah.......that's it. Devyn Marble's ability to dribble a basketball dramatically improved over his 4 years at Iowa.
Do yourself a favor and just shut up! If you believe even half of what you typed in this thread, your way too basketball stupid to bother with.

We need to stop calling them "late season collapses" and start calling them what they really were. "Under pressure collapses". The senior class performed bad when the pressure was on, end of close games and end of good seasons. If we would have lost a few more games early those two years, they would have never felt top 10 pressure and fell apart. They just developed a "here we go again" attitude that they could never shake. The good news is, other than Jok who definitely doesn't lack for confidence, all the players are too young to have developed that attitude along with them. The culture of not closing left with the senior class.

I'm one step worse than you I guess because I love the arguing.

I would hope it did. He had to play some point later in his career so I would like to think he was told to work on dribbling and I would like to think he had the ability to improve over 4 years. Man I'm dumb.

So they are asking the coaches that recruited the players in question, about the ability of said players???? ...and they received positive feedback from these coaches about the players they recruited and currently coach?
Got it. They'll get nothing but the unvarnished truth in that scenario. I'm certain.

At least you admit it. Finally. That's half of the problem. Now stop arguing about basketball like you AREN'T dumb and the entire problem will be solved.

I'll match my basketball knowledge against "Mark and Chad" any day.
Jamie Pollard is 100% certain that his football program is on the cusp of greatness. Who's better connected and more knowledgeable than Jamie? Is Jamie Pollard trying to put the best possible spin op n the situation? Yeeeessss.
Would Fran handle it any differently? Nooooo.

I'd like some of you guys, "Mark and Chad" or Fran to go on record and say we can win a BIG title with CW and JBo at PG.
Line up and put your money where your mouth is..

Lol who the hell is saying we'd win a B10 Championship with them at point!? You are a complete moron man. Not worth anymore of my time. Too stupid to argue with. Good riddance.
