By the way, Saban reminds me of
Tua is the real deal, wish Hawks could snag a leader at QB half as good as that.
Too bad Bama won. Dont like them in the dynasty position. Saban has 5 natty titles in 9 or 10 years, jeez
And he had both a PI and face mask call within the last 4:00.The corner for Georgia #14 is brutally bad. Abused all night.
Alabama is in a class all by itself. Five championships in nine years.
That PI was pretty weak. I guarantee that doesn't get called if the roles are reversed. And he had both a PI and face mask call within the last 4:00.
Yeah. True. As a hypo, say that Iowa landed a guy on par with Cam Newton and he was on the 2009 team and Shonn Greene was still on the team. So we'd roll out there in the title game against Bama, we're beating them and the offense is humming. We start to get giddy. And then on some innocuous run play, "Oh, that right guard sure took a mean twist on his knee on that play. And in comes the true freshman, Buster Cuckington, from Manson, Iowa. Now he weighs in at 265, but this kid is pure heart and I don't think Iowa will miss a beat."Football has always been an aristocracy with dominant powers at the top. They try to democratize it a bit, so the lower classes look like they have a chance, but the major powers have always dominated.

We can all agree, it’s a thrill to watch these games. It’s a thrill and blast to watch two great teams go at it. Big, Physical, Fast, Exciting teams.
However, am I the only one who has a hard time enjoying these games sometimes because of how far.. really about 4 galaxies away Iowa is from ever playing in a game like this? The speed of the teams, the strength and power, the excellent game planning and schemes.. I mean, we’re not even remotely close to matching up to any of these teams in any of those aspects.
It’s frustrating that we’ve become content to “accept the fact” that Iowa will never be able to contend for a Championship.
Or am I just a Debbie downing cry baby?
Buster Cuckington? Really?Yeah. True. As a hypo, say that Iowa landed a guy on par with Cam Newton and he was on the 2009 team and Shonn Greene was still on the team. Next thing you know, Bama is lining up two guys who are going to be in the NFL in a few months against Cuckington and our Cam Newton level QB has approximately 3/8ths of a second to receive the snap, read the defense and throw the ball or run before he is absolutely killed by two grown ass men who weigh a total of 650 pounds and can cover 10 yards from a dead stop in approximately 1.2 seconds. Then, Iowa would end up losing a game they had in hand by 17 points.
With better coaching we would've been in the playoffs 3 seasons ago.
It's all about the coaching. One notch up from our current situation and we can be relevant.

The next two seasons are going to need to be like that or the Ferentz dynasty is over. Sometimes Kirk can work some magic when there's something tangible on the line. Here's this for some feels.02, 08 (if Stanzi was starter going into the season) 09, and 10 were all teams that could have competed with the National Champions. We haven't had a team even near talented enough since then.
Last I checked, we were an obvious targeting call away. What about that loss was a product of bad coaching? With better coaching we would've been in the playoffs 3 seasons ago.
