Wartburg featured in New York Times

As a Wartburg grad who lived with a wrestler for 4 years, I can attest to the point in the article that said wrestling is king at the Burg. No other sports/clubs/teams even sniff the popularity of the wrestling team.

I was going to say something about not feeding the troll in regards to Duff's post, but that post pretty much does the same thing. Good jorb.

Some people troll b/c they're genuine a$$ hats. Duff trolls to have some fun. Best approach is to just give him **** right back.

As a DIII wrestler, I always hated the Burgs, but you have to give it up for their success. Every title since '95. Incredibly impressive. Someday that streak will end.

True. Just gotta watch it with some of the wrestling fans on here, they can be a little thin skinned sometimes.

I saw some Wartburg wrestlers do some insane stuff. They are a different breed of human.....unless you are into drinking another man's pee. Those dudes were always fun to party with, though.

You know -- no matter how infrequent you say it ... it still feels good (and is true) Warts Suck.

not really ive given up

dIII programs are going to get weaker with grandview being in iowa and to have more scholarships there is just no way to compete

Most of the Iowa Conference is on a whole other academic level than Grandview. Even though this limits some of the wrestlers Iowa Conf. might recruit, it probably also reduces competition between GV and Iowa Conf schools. They probably will be going after different types of kids.

I know I wouldn't have considered GV personally, scholarship or not.

i turned down uno to go to simpson and god was that a mistake with the student loan debt i have now! i did get some great friends from simpson so i wouldn't trade it for the world but if i was offered something from grandview id take it. my degree has gotten me no where and going to simpson i thought a degree from there is all i needed atleast thats what i was told by admissions.

in past some kids would give up going to iowa central for wartburg, coe, luther, simpson central w/e it is but grandview is is a pretty good location and the facilities are top notch. if i am fortunate enough to have a boy who has the choice of where to wrestle and if its not at the d1 level i will strongly encourage going somewhere that has a scholarship program over simpson easy
