Vote: Do You Pull for Other B1G Teams in Big Dance?

It is a loyalty thing, I have been doing it for the last 35 years. I don't know any other way. i root for B1G teams in the tournament, root for them in bowl games. I am all about the rah,rah for the conference crap.
You know what? You can do that, and I won't even be mad, bro.

I would imagine that the Lads would enjoy watching three teams they defeated in the Big prevail over the Others. F the others. I always am in favor of the Big teams almost every occasion. Didn't mind the goofs losing, but wanted all the other conference teams to win. Simply makes the Hawks accomplishments this season all the more shiny.....

Exactly. If this wasn't the case then maybe Iowa should leave the conference and just play in some weak midmajor like Fran used to do. Then he can win the conference every year and go to the NCAA every year. After all isn't that all the matters? Obviously winning the conference is not a high priority at Iowa. Just get to the tournament regardless of whether it is from finishing fourth, fifth, or sixth in the conference. Then at the bigginning of the season talk hope and talk about maybe winning the conference but finish fourth, fifth, or sixth then rinse and repeat the next season, and the one after that, and the one after that and on and on and on.

I am not going to apologize for wanting to win Big and trying to be the best instead of finishing in bottom of the top half or the top of the bottom half. Hey could be worse we could finish in bottom of the bottom half. That attitude makes me want to vomit.

You compete in the better conference to beat the best and be the best. That ain't gonna happen if your conference is shitty and loses to the other conferences. It's important that we all look competitive and help boost the conference image. If you don't want that then go midmajor like I said.

So you're saying you want the Big 10 to be the best conference and you demand that we win that conference or else? So pretty much the only thing you will accept is being the best team in the nation?

Also the first sentence in your last paragraph doesn't make sense. They play a tournament to prove who the best is. If Gonzaga wins the tournament, does it matter how strong their conference is?

Well there goes Michigan. Oregon steals UM's magic. I like Oregon against either Purdue or Kansas.

You got it.

I'm not so sure I agree with this. In many one and done tournaments, the best team doesn't always win. Sometimes it's the team that plays better on that particular day..

Just my $.02 .. .. GO HAWKS!!!

NEVER!!!!! We recruit against these schools....at least we are supposed to be....sometimes I wonder. Anyway, why in the hell do we want them to look that much more appealing than us??? I've NEVER understood the conference loyalty bullshit....screw that!!!

I should have said they play a tournament to see who the "best" is. Either way tho, whoever does well in the tournament doesn't get mocked for the conference they played in. In football I see Big D's arguement about wanting the best conference. In basketball it doesn't matter because of the tournament.

And Purdue goes down in possibly the most humiliating fashion. They really didn't even deserve to be on the court with Kansas in that 2nd half.
