Visitor Locker Room Theft

Pollard hired said security, at a minimum, that was a dramatic fail. The second wreaks of trying to blame the victim. Who exactly would someone "affiliated" with UI be who was alone in the locker room to go through everyone's stuff and rip them off during a game?

It makes clown fans sleep better at night if they blame Iowa.

I'm sure Pollard will take the blame for this.

But for anyone to think that he allowed this to happen is asinine. Some people on here are almost acting as if ISU officials allowed this to happen on purpose. You really can't be that stupid, right?

You can all hate Jamie Pollard if you want, that's your right. But he is a stand up guy. I'm sure Gary Barta is a stand up guy too. Neither one would want something like this to happen under their watch.

So go ahead and bash the security or whatever, but don't think for a minute that any AD would want something like this to happen.

It would be akin to me blaming Gary Barta for the Iowa fans throwing things at the ISU football players on the sidelines. I wouldn't blame Barta for that, and I'm sure he doesn't condone that. But it still happens. I have known several ISU football players over the years and you'd be amazed at what gets thrown at them. I'm sure it happens to Iowa players at ISU too. There are bad apples everywhere.

But I don't think that Jamie Pollard or Gary Barta are bad apples. They are good guys that don't want to see any black marks against their programs.

Hey clone boy, ever heard the term "security"? Virtually every well-managed facility (there's your catch.."well-managed") in the country has measures to prevent this kind of thing. Only an idiot ISU fan could (or would try to) rationalize around that.

Here's a little advice...the class thing to do would be apologize and say that doesn't represent the majority of your fans. But that would be the class thing...and that's just not your style.

You run a bush league operation, we're not the first to point that out. (a peer survey of your conference peers spoke volumes). Embrace it...it's who you are, and have always been. This is just one more example.

Now get the hell off our board...you're stinking the place up

While it would be easy to pile on I think we need to be careful
1-There likely was security. It would be a failure of those given the duty for security.
2-It also isn't totally inconceivable that someone affiliated with ui is involved.

Expand on point #2, please.

uh, you are manifesting this as the 'inside job' theory, which it obviously is not. i'm guessing that this kid probably worked with the security detail in this theft. but it's not folly's problem, since the guy went to iowa several years previous.

Wouldn't this be the lock on the door that Iowa forgot to lock?

WTF are you "keeping"? So it is ok to let people steal from the locker room as long as they aren't ISU grads? So dudes from UNI, Iowa, Princeton, Harvard, or DMAC are free to roam around the visitors locker room and take whatever they want? As long as they don't attend MoU, it is free game?

A couple of people on TOS are citing sources close to players and coaches that money, credit cards, and phones were taken from Iowa's locker room while they were out on the field yesterday. If true this is a serious issue and it just goes to show the culture Pollard is grooming over there.

News flash..... A Hok fan was the criminal doing this to his own team. What is KF and Gary going to do with the culture at Iowa?

This made me laffy.

How do we know he's a Hawk fan? Just because he attended Iowa? Hell, I went to ISU, doesn't make me a Cyclone fan...

Well when he ran for student government at Iowa, he did put that he "loves the University of Iowa" in his statement for candidacy. That's a start.

And maybe he hated some of the football players. It doesn't change the fact that the guy wasn't with the Iowa football team and somehow was able to get past ISU's security, who obviously did a ****** poor job at their duties.

I didnt like some of the athletes at ISU during my time there, that doesn't stop me from being less of a fan. Yeah the third party security firm did a **** poor job at that point in time, and the U of I equipment managers did a **** poor job locking the door after them as well.

Regardless, its unfortunate this ONE event happened, but it's getting solved. Time to move on from it.

It was a simple solution, and one that should have been in place long before this incident....that is simply posting a guard in the hallway/door to the locker room. How can you blame the security company, when ISU wouldn't pay for a guard at the door? That is an ISU decision, not a security company decision.
