Whip their butts in the trenches, establish the run, set up the play action pass, take a couple of punches but never panic. Beautiful.
I think haymakers was the word you were looking for.take a couple of punches

A couple of punches =/= 31 points and 500 yards of offense given up
This for sure. He played with good leverage, I only remember him missing one tackles, and really didn't make too many mistakes (just gotta make that QB pitch on the option!).It was also very gratifying to see the "next man in" on defense. Donatell was in on a ton of plays.
Very happy for the win BUT you do realize, don't you, that take away the pick six, the difference in this game is a field goal. That's not going to get it done every Saturday....

We ran the ball 7 times in the first half. After going three and out their first possession of the 2nd half, they got the ball and the next drive was 10 plays, 8 of them runs, for 6.
We scored 24 points in the 4th and only passed 4 times.
The D is not going to win us ball games this year. Hopefully, we can keep that 4th quarter offensive momentum going into the next game. I don't understand how we can't play the first 3 quarters of a ball game but somehow we figure it out in the 4th. We need to figure that out earlier in ball games and stay up by 13+ points an entire game.
Winning by 3 points isn't going to get it done? I think that gets it done every Saturday, every Friday, and every Sunday.I really don't understand some people. Seriously, we just kicked them in the teeth in the 4th quarter. Isn't that the whole point of football? To put yourself in a good position and then dominate a team at the end of the game?Very happy for the win BUT you do realize, don't you, that take away the pick six, the difference in this game is a field goal. It was nice to see Iowa play to win instead of playing not to lose in the 4th. Huge credit to the staff.
