Uthoff to...

I never said boringball was a bad thing. More power to the kid for, above all, getting offered at an established program such as Wisconsin and being able to jump at it. I wish him nothing but the best of luck. I just find Wisky's basketball team particularly boring to watch.

They are not as boring as they once were. That has been the result of winning and gettting more talented players.

I agree, plus Bo expects to get every call and whines more than any other coach in the conference, I tried to watch the Hawks and Whisky play each other last year and it was brutal to watch.

Joe, the point I was trying to get at is that he made the choice that he felt is best for him, and I applaud that. My opinions of watching Wisky play are tangential to the point at best.

It sounds like Wisky will be a better fint with their style of ball. I have never seen him play but, I have heard him described as a great shooter who is ok on the boards.

Saw that too. Guess, at least it wasn't Iowa State...but Fran just lost his first recruiting battle.

Not true, he lost a JUCO to Nevada and lost another kid to West Virginia. And then there was the whole Hawaii fiasco. This is at least number four by my count. Not that any of these guys are heartbreaking losses and they each make sense for style of play, proximity, and academic reasons. But we should at least be accurate.

This officially sucks hind teat.

Iowa needs to do a better job of keeping good kids in state, especially those from a medium sized city less than 30 miles away. Fran's got his work cut out for him.

Repairing the damage done by Lick is gonna take some time.

This. We're not exactly in the kind of shape as a program where we've got players lining up to play for us. Fran's got his work cut out for him, getting players to come to Iowa.

I don't believe in playing the "well we didn't want him anyway" card, but if Uthoff thinks Wisconsin's half-court style is a better fit for him than the up and down style that Fran wants to play, then maybe we'll be better off in the end if we sign someone else who wants to run more..

Watch the video in the attached story. Uthoff talked to Jason Bohannon about the decision. JBo gave a good review of Wisconsin.

The fact is, at this point, a recruit knows what he gets when he goes to Wisconsin. They do not know what they get (yet) if they go to Iowa (or ISU, at this point) as far as the basketball programs. Both schools have this year to establish something for the next class of players. Let's see what happens.

Good point , and if Fran can pull a rabbit out of his hat his first year then we are on our way to re-building the Iowa program. A sixth place or better finish would be a rabbit.

Who cares he is so skinny and weak... ive watched him play he will be an average player in the big ten and doesnt fit are style of play... im looking forward to seeing the iowa bigs get really physical with him in the paint its going to take a lot for him to have a bigten body

right, because we all have seen so many games and have a perfect idea of what the "style of play" is going to be...
