Another thing that pops into my mind is Davidson has put up big offensive numbers and made lots of 3's..so I decided to look at their schedule this year. They didn't win 1 big game on the road or on a neutral court. They scored tons of points against teams like George Mason, Montana, Stetson, UNC Wilmington, Fordham, etc... They got drummed by North Carolina on a neutral court, lost by 11 against Virginia on the road(not terrible), lost to VCU on the road and then got destroyed a few days ago by the same VCU team they crushed at home a week before. All of their wins were at home. They won 10 straight at the end of the year. They beat Dayton handily(also at home) and beat Lasalle, UMass, etc.
Iowa beat UNC at Chapel Hill(they played bad but no excuses, so did we). We won at Ohio State as well. We played a much tougher schedule and we are a veteran group who took a Sweet 16 Tennessee team to overtime in last years NCAA Tourney, a lot of these guys played valuable minutes in that game. We have improved every year the last 5 years. No postseason, NIT 2nd round the next, NIT title game the next, NCAA Tourney loss the next, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we beat Davidson and lose to Gonzaga this year.
Imagine Iowa's offensive numbers playing Davidson's schedule. I just don't see how anyone can argue why Davidson is going to beat us off the straight facts. They haven't beat anyone in the NCAA tourney on neutral court or on the road this year.
I am very biased but am I wrong here..?
