I have directv and cannot get ESPN3. I have Time Warner Cable as internet provider, but can't get ESPN3 unless I subscribe to their cable package. I am effed again.

For us Low-def people, 7.1 is just regular channel 7, correct?
ESPN3 is about the only benefit to having Mediacon IMO. I would gladly switch back to Directv and risk missing that feature though - and probably will when the stupid contract runs out. I just got a rate raise notice too - more reason to dump cable.

You turn off your directv and go old school. Its ridiculously not Smooth. CBB pre-conference has been pretty much ruined for me with the way that TV has raped it.

Its 2011, we should be able to figure out a way to broadcast the game for free across the state without using weird digital channels. Why cant this just be on ABC across the state?
Heaven forbid we delay the amazing comedy hours of Last Man Standing, Man Up!, The Middle and Suburgatory
Ive never even heard of those shows!

I have mediacon for my internet and I think I can get ESPN3 still. Not sure until I get home after work.
If you are in DesMoines and the game is on Mediacon then I believe Zimms on Ingersoll still has mediacon. Maybe they can get the game.

Sorry for my apparent lack of knowledge on tv games being aired on normal channels. Instead of being a dbag maybe explain why the game isnt on normal channels vs the digital channels.

If you have one of the older DirecTv boxes that has an input for ANT. In, then you can hook up a digital indoor antenna and it will pick up the .2's and .3's on a channel scan.
However, any newer boxes do not have that option as they have done away with the internal tuners in these boxes. However a straight hook up of a digital antenna to your digital tv (or converter box if your TV is not digital) will still get you these channels. However if you run your sound via HDMI bypassing your TV, you may need to get out those old red and white ended RCA composite cables and run straight out of the back of the TV (if you can reach it, with mine I can barely get my hand between the TV and the wall, let alone, see which output to use!).
Went through this latter process to get 19.1 so I could watch ADM play in the UNIDome for state semis in football.
