Tropical Storm Hermine

In looking at the projection, it seems like this system will roll right over Iowa City either Friday night or Saturday morning. I'm hoping weather doesn't play a factor in this game since that seems to equal the talent levels of the teams.

Last time weather was an issue, Brodell was the deciding factor, not the weather...

this will line up perfectly then for KF's strategy of slowing ISU down with water on the field - might not have to plug the pumps to arrive at the same results this time......just have to figure out a way to cut the grass high.......

Weatherbug shows low 57, high 78, mostly cloudy with a 30% chance of rain. Most of the rain chances are in the morning.

Weather.com shows Iowa City on Sat Sept, 11 with a low of 52, high of 72, partly cloudy with 20% chance of rain.

That is probably the average weather for that day for this time of year. They won't have a better picture of the weather until the end of the week. I just hope that Hermine speeds up and is through Iowa on Friday.

Don't waste your time. Weather projections beyond 48hours are little more than crap shoots. Let's have this discussion on Thursday afternoon.

That- and it will be little more than a drizzle even if it holds together and gets that far north. it will barely be a tropical depression by the time it hits the dallas metroplex.

My forecast says... Partly cloudy, 100% chance of alcohol consumption with a low of ugly cyclown girls walking around.

The storm has given 1.41 inches of much needed rain to my yard since midnight and could see up to 5 inches by the time it is done.

We've had 3.5 inches so far today so hopefully that sucks some of the rain out before it gets up there.

2-4 Inches of rain leading up to Saturday morning, there may be some remaining precipitation at kick but the major stuff should be off to the south and east for the majority of the game. Given our new field and drainage system, this should be minimal to no issue.

We are getting hit with all of the rain from this today down here in Dallas. It has rained all day and is supposed to rain through the night and into tomorrow. Even had some tornado warnings today.

Hope this isn't the case for IC this weekend.

Okay, this crap can stop now. 6.46 inches since midnight, 2.9 in the last 2 hours and 2.39 in the last hour. Oh, and did I mention that I now have a leaky roof. Oh, and wouldn't be surprised if I get another 2 inches before it is all said and done.

KJ, hope things go better for you.

Let me say upfront that I was against the plastic grass coming to Kinnick, but the game that forced the issue was two years ago vs ISU when it was sloppy wet,and Shonn Greene could have had 200 yds and a couple more TDs if he had a firm track. He kept doing his cutback, and slipping down...thankfully Brodell had the punt return and Iowa pulled it out. So, even tho I am against the field turf, when there is a system like this coming out of texas, I am glad we have it for these games. It might be slick, but we will not see huge chunks of turf coming up.

But, like someone said, I hate when weather is factor...it evens out the talent disparity. So, hopefully, it will be gone by kickoff.
