Tracking 2014 Class Offers

Rumors are starting to swirl that 4-star athlete Jay Scheel has committed to Iowa. I wouldn't be surprised to see some official reports come out about it this evening or early tomorrow.

Iowa has offered Joliet, Illinois ILB Clifton Garrett. Garrett is a top 50 recruit nationally, and he appeared to have really enjoyed his visit to Iowa's junior day this weekend.

DJ Foster, a C/OG from Lincoln, NE was offered by Iowa this week. He was also scheduled to be at Junior Day today.

Note: He has a Husker offer, so I think Iowa is probably a long-shot here. You never know, but Lincoln kids are tough to get out of town.

Iowa has now offered TE Ian Bunting of Hinsdale Central in Chicagoland.

Edit: Bunting is a teammate of OG/C Brian Allen, another 2014 recruit.

Follow up--It's worth noting that both Allen and Bunting (and a number of other Chicagoland recruits) work out with Core 6 Athletes, an offseason football centric training and 7 on 7 team. One of the coaches for Core 6 is former Iowa OL Mike Jones.

One guy to watch for the next Iowa offer is 4-star DB Jyaz Jones. Jones is the younger brother of new 2013 WR commit Anjeus Jones.

Quick update:
Iowa has offered OL Brian Wallace of St. Louis. Wallace also has offers from Mizzou, Nebraska, and others.

Deal looks like Coker 2.0, which wouldn't bother me. Hopefully the DeMatha pipeline can get started again.
I was just about to comment on this. When I saw Dematha I thought ohh boy, I'm sure Coker if he still maintains a relationship with the coaches/players at the school, it might not be the most positive regarding Iowa.

I just looked. Of the 15 schools that have offered this guy 13 recruit better than us. OU, ND and O$U all want this cat.

Correction Cincy and Northern Illinois have not offered this guy so we are the crappiest of all schools with offers.
