Tracking 2012 Class Offers

Minnesota soft verbal Andre McDonald is making a visit soon to Iowa City. Iowa was in on him early, hopefully that gives us some advantage over O$U.

I'm really hoping that Iowa can have luck landing the Minnesota trio of Andre McDonald (WR), Will Johnson (TE), and Jonah Pirsig (OL). If the Illinois guys can start befriending and encouraging the Minnesota guys to opt for Iowa ... then Iowa's class could end up being pretty darn impressive.

If the Illinois guys could end up also swaying Diamond ... then that would just be "sugar on top."

Another thing I'm curious about is what the Iowa coaches think about Donatell, the dual-threat QB from Colorado (same school as Kozan and Mann). I'm curious if we end up eventually offering him or not.

Is it just me or does anybody else love winning these recruiting battles against Dantonio and MSU? We are in another final four with them (Lohn).

Could be 4 for 4 if Iowa can get Lohn and Pirsig to commit.

Does anyone happen to know if the way the schools symbols are listed on the rivals.com profile(Iowa first) actually means anything or is that just some random selection?

Lohn, with his intensity, sounds like a Iowa player.

Alphabetical order.

I'm talking about the Symbols on the right top. It reads...Iowa, Tulsa, Stanford, Michigan State, and Kansas. The bottom listing of interested schools are in alphabetical order.

Those are jus random selections of the interested schools....refresh the page, and i bet the order (and schools) will change.

Mine stayed the same so I assume while generally random they have Iowa at number one for me as a identified Iowa fan.

Not that it matters.

Could be a big day for Iowa early next month. The Cass Tech guys Iowa is in on, Laron Taylor, Leviticus ("Brings the Old Testament") Payne, and possibly Ruben Liles will announce at the "Sound Mind Sound Body" and "We Lift as We Climb" media day in early August. Free article linked...FWIW, Rob Howe said that Leviticus Payne tweeted him when it was announced that Iowa had a commitment worried that Iowa may have taken a defensive back commitment. That would seem to imply he wants to commit, or at the every least, seriously considering it, to Iowa and doesn't want his spot taken.

Also, Iowa is easily his best offer and I'm sure that he doesn't want that offer to evaporate.

I once had a faculty job offer (in a geography that didn't float my boat) ... and I tried to make them wait as long as I could. They ended up getting sick of waiting and they ended up moving on. It ended up for the better for me in the longer run .... however it also forced me to wait an extra year to find a job. When you're playing "the game" ... it can feel like you're playing high stakes poker ... and it sucks when you come out of the experience feeling a bit burned.

My bet is that Payne is probably feeling some emotions not too dissimilar from mine back then.
