Tournament Expansion

On ESPN this morning they basically said the expansion to 96 teams will get done, no question. They are just hashing out when to implement it, next year or after the current TV contracts expire in 2012. Personally I really dislike the idea of expanding further, there can be too much of a good thing. They discussed it a bit on ESPN and came up with a number of reasons it would be bad and could only come up with one positive - it will bring in more money for the NCAA. Anyone excited for an expanded tournament, and why?

Coaches think it may save jobs but it may actually cost jobs. A coach can survive missing the tournament in it's existing format (for awhile). Missing a 96 team tournament? Good luck.

I hate rewarding mediocrity.

Funny how the NCAA can figure out a way to expand a 64 team tournament to 96, which I am guessing very few fans want. But all the brain sharks can't figure out how to make a 8, 12 or 16 team tournament for college football, which a large number of fans do.
