Top 100 no Mcnutt

No he's not.

Yes...he is. Hester's place is in the return game, and to be the occasional deep threat. If you're counting on him (like the Bears have) to be on the field as a WR consistently you're not in a good place. McNutt has more size, better hands, and is much more physical. The only thing Hester has on McNutt is speed, and speed only means so much.

Apparently, it's being discussed to move Hester out of the return game. This doesn't mean it will happen of course. :)

How am I being condescending?

Please correct your language. I do not appriciate being talked to that way.

You act as though the answer is blatantly obvious, yet you're the only one who sees it. Instead of responding to posts saying McNutt is better than Hester with "No, he's not," actually articulate WHY you think Hester is better. "Because I said so" isn't an acceptable answer if you're trying to prove you're not being condescending.

Broncos will be shopping for a receiver in the third or fourth round and have two picks in the 4th round...I'd love it if they picked McNutt. The guy could be a gamer in the NFL and would have Peyton throwing him passes

Not because I said so, but because he is.

My opinion on the matter is moot.

That's such an brilliant thought, coming from someone who belittles others for their uninformed opinions. He's better, just because he's better? You can't offer up anything to support that assertion?

Hester has been absolutely mediocre as a wide receiver. If anything, I would think the Bears would be contemplating moving him back to being a full time kick and punt returner and give up on trying to give him more offensive responsibilities. Unfortunaely Knox may never play again so I suspect the Bears are definitely in the market for a wide receiver, either drafting one or in the free agent market. Can't remember the last Hawkeye that played a prominent role for the Bears, but it's been awhile.

Speed isn't an issue that hurts him. If you took the top 10 receivers in the NFL and made them run a 40 you'd be shocked by how slow some of their times were.

I think he'll do better in the draft than many think. If it weren't for the drops he'd be the the complete package. It was crazy, he's shown that he can make great catches but seemed to have a mental lapse when he was wide open and sometimes missed ones thrown right in his hands. If anything will hurt him that will.

But overall I think he won't wait too long to be drafted.

The Bears signed two WR's during free agency and traded for Marshall. Me thinks if they were planning on drafting a WR, they would not have done that, since it is cheaper to draft than sign or trade.

The Bears have needs on the D line, LB, Secondary, TE and O Line which are much more pressing than the situation at WR.

Which clearly explains why the Bears aren't likely to draft him. Now if you would just articulate your thoughts with this sort of detail when it comes to individual comparisons....

One of the WR that the Bears signed, Devin Thomas, is likely only going to play on special teams for them as that is his specialty. He has 42 receptions in 4 years.

The other, Eric Weems, is basically a return specialist and has 20 total receptions in his five years of pro football.

Bears will not be drafting McNutt. Bennett has a great connection with Cutler and so does Marshall. Bennett catches EVERYTHING thrown his way. McNutt is too much like Bennett and I only see them drafting a WR if for some reason Floyd or Wright fall to them. Being a Bears fan I hope they draft a player on defense.

Bennett is more of a slot receiver, and not nearly the physical, big WR that McNutt is.
Bennett missed at least 5 games last year with a bruised chest...not a phyisical guy.
Thomas is expected to be a special teams guy. Hester is probably going back to focus on kick returns. Schazenbacher might not even make the team after the drops late in the season from a guy who cannot afford to drop passes.
Weems is another special team guy, probably. Knox is totally uncertain,health-wise.
The Bears have 7 picks in the draft. They will go for best player available, probably a defensive lineman in the first round, and then probably a corner or lb in the second round. By round 3 or 4 they will be looking for a WR,mark my words. McNutt may not have the speed they are looking for, tho,to compliment the physicality of Marshall on the other side. Still, he might be the best WR available and a bargain in round 4. Cutler likes big WR's,and they have junked the old offensive coordinator,Martz, and his small WR concept....so look for a tall WR to be drafted. They want to build depth,so they may not require an immediate starter quality guy,but a young guy who can be developed, like the Packers have been doing so well in recent years.

I thought DJK was a great WR at Iowa until he got into trouble before the 2010 Insight Bowl. He couldn't even get into the Arena Football League. I hope McNutt gets in the NFL somehow, he has great hands.

McNutt will drafted. It is just a matter of when and where.
