Tom Dienhart's article

Indiana should have beaten the 2009 Iowa team in Kinnick.

Another classic example of a team being very much so out talented by Iowa and being very much in the game, and in fact almost winning it.

And don't forget the 2010 Inidana game. The only reason Iowa won that game is because the Indiana receiver dropped a gimmie pass in the end zone. I've always viewed that regualar season record as 6-6 because of that. You lost the game, but were given a gift by Indiana's receiver.

How many wins do we have to give back the year we went to the Orange Bowl. Remember Sashs interception.? Remeber the UNI game ? Sometimes your the windshield Sometimes your the bug

Sighs......................whatever you do make sure you don't take responsibility when your team gets beaten by and almost loses to inferior talented teams. Good grief.

Sorry I thought we were talking about taking away a win because the other team dropped a pass in the end zone. KF teams have lost a game they should have won almost every year. Does that make you feel better. Its true. But we have won a few we should have lost. Thats all Im saying.

Hit me. I don't know why I get worked up over this stuff. No point.

First time I have ever seen someone proclaim that a team who lost by 18 points and didnt even cover the spread that day was a team that "almost won" or "should have beaten Iowa".

Comical.

I say that because of the very controversial call in the end zone at the end of the first half and the Sash interception, which was a fluke.
Those two plays changed the outcome, so I don't think it's comical. It was the weirdest Iowa win that I can remember.

You don't remember blocking 2 fgs to beat UNI? I don't see how anything could be weirder than that...

Or losing to Iowa State 15-12 when the only scoring that day was freakin fg's.

42-24 is not a game that can be changed by 2 plays.

So using your logic means KF gets credit for any close loss or game the Hawks "should have won"?

If thats the case, Iowa should have been about 9-3 last year.

I don't really follow you. I watched the game on TV and Indiana had Iowa on the ropes big time in the first half. Had those two plays (one a bad call and the other a freak play) gone the other way, Indiana would have been up 35-7 on Iowa.

Hi well some very well written stuff here, my thought is 1 how many games did we get blown out in?
2. I know we dont have a proven big 10 QB but who ever he is he had to be on the sidelins thinking "crap" I can make that pass.
3. yes we are in a run-it-till-it-dont- work mind set but hopefuly somebody can say hey it dont work!!
4. I just feel we will be better Knute Rockne said "Football consits mainly of blocking and Tackling" our line can block!!
and somebody will get mad enogugh to tackle ...its gonna be better .....its gotta be better... WE WILL BE BETTER
GO HAWKS

Was it a bad call?

Also, the Iowa defense made that play on the Sash INT.

D line got pressure and forced Chappell into a mistake. Thats football.

Yes!
Ok. We get it! We were bad last year.
But riddle me this... Had we come back on the last drive and beaten them, wouldn't the Hoosiers still be saying the same? "We almost beat them, we'll get em next year"?
Indiana almost beat us two out of the three times before that too! So couldn't they have been saying that for a few years now? Non-story to me, but good bulletin board material (as a previous poster has said).

I hope the Hawks roll this year, and all the "experts" have to eat a sheet ton of crow.

7 straight goal line stops at Syracuse has to be up there too.
