He now has the distinction of being the worse coach in Evansville history and had the 2nd slowest offense in the country.

Sounds about right.
 
Like at Iowa, he built a solid foundation for long term success but was fired before he got the chance to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Reminds me of guys like former Hawk Bo Porter who was the manager for the Astros as they were building, was fired, and AJ Hinch was brought in to win with the work Porter did. Just watch, Evansville will be a much better team in the future.

He is crying all the way to the bank. Made more in a decade that most of us make in a lifetime. And he will still land an assistant gig that will pay him six figures. Stealing from non-profit universities is better than honest work, it seems.
 
I bought into "The Butler Way" hard when he was hired. Then it became apparent pretty quickly, Iowa got Barry Collier instead of Thad Matta.
 
The deal with TL is the AD was tired of the immature antics of Alfraud and wanted some maturity on the sidelines....that and his 53 wins his last two years @ Butler spoke loudly.

People think I'm kidding, but I'm not.

I feel sorry for Gatens as he got totally screwed during that stent and coaching style. A legit D1 player and he had to slow his game down.

I disagree. Barta reacted like a 9U baseball player seeing a squirrel run across the field. They needed to recover/rebuild after Alfraud and Barta saw a chance to get the Coach of the Year! Shiny objects!
